It’s OKI think that this movie is ok. This movie is not my most favorite, but I like it a little bit. I like comedy movies a lot better than drama movies, but I still like drama movies a tiny bit ( but not as much as comedy ). I love comedy movies only rated G, PG, and / or PG-13 ( not rated R ). Story is bad, actors/effects/ visuals were good.The actors were great and the visuals were excellent. The problem is with the story- to be more accurate the book. August is portrayed as a incredibly selfish kid. Yes, we get it that he has problems. And that’s very unfortunate and we all know that there are kids in real life who have to deal with the same thing. He needs to grow up. But he always acts like the world revolves around him. He never asks Summer, Charlotte, or Jack Will about themselves. Everything is Auggie, Auggie, Auggie! Obviously he’s the main character, but his friends are shallowly developed.He never takes into consideration the feelings of others such as his sister. She’s had to deal with him for so long, and the one time she wants to do sometimes by herself August throws a big temper tantrum and gets his way. He acts so much like a victim that is cringe worthy. Additionally the way that the story portrayed the other kids in his grade is very inaccurate. They seem to just be in the story to make you feel even more bad for August. He’s in fifth grade, but he’s so clingy to his mom. When is was in fifth grade, I had serious medical condition that made me several days of school because I had to do to the hospital. Additionally I had a teacher that treated me badly. But did i whine and cry? No, I sucked it up! I have siblings and I didn’t invade their lives.Which is what the movie is supposed to be telling you-be strong in hard times etc.) The parents are always so lenient and give August ALL their attention. And what’s with the end of movie where they treated him like he was Baby Jesus?! I mean, he didn’t do anything remarkable. I, like others cried at the end. But not for Auggie. No, I cried because of Olivia. Olivia literally gave everything to Auggie. She’s not allowed to do anything with just her and her parents without Auggie throwing a big fat hissy fit. This can lead to depression and other terrible mental illnesses. Overall the movie was great, but the story was terrible.
