All The Money In The World follows the kidnapping of 16-year-old John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) and the desperate attempt by his devoted mother Gail (Michelle Williams) to convince his billionaire grandfather (Christopher Plummer) to pay the ransom. When Getty Sr. refuses, Gail attempts to sway him as her son’s captors become increasingly volatile and brutal. With her son’s life in the balance, Gail and Getty’s advisor (Mark Wahlberg) become unlikely allies in the race against time that ultimately reveals the true and lasting value of love over money.

All the Money In The WorldWhen my class was talking about this in reading and my teacher brought up the movie, I was all for it. Ridley Scott’s best movie since ever!!!! The actors are great at their roles, the storyline is simple or follow (if you know about this story before movie came out)..Score: 5/5
IronicI thought it was a great movie. I could care less if Kevin Spacey was replaced. Getty was played by the right actor. A lot of themes are addressed in this movie, themes that are surrounded by irony of course. Greed, family, drugs, divorce, corruption, the strength of women in the family, the weakness of men in the face of money, pride, and of course, taxes...and all so beautiful wrapped in irony. And the irony was they for all the money in the world he could have had, he took nothing with him and in the end the one person he kept trying to screw over and put aside, was the one who was put in charge of Getty’s vast fortune at the time. The irony was, too, that for all the money he was making, he could t spend it...only invest it because he was so cheap that he had set up his company as a charity that never gave. The irony, again, was that family, towards the end, appeared to have meaning to him, but he did everything in his power to destroy another family and separate a mother from her children even though his own son was a rotten drug addict who couldn’t hold a job or take care of his own family. It was perfectly explained why he was the way he was, why he made the decisions that he made. And there is a possibility that Mr. Getty was an autistic man. The fact that he was a money-pincher at all costs, is a testament to his OCD with money that perhaps had its roots in autism. He didn’t seem to understand the importance of love because if he did he would have paid immediately for his grandson, if he did he would never have tried to separate the mother from her children. Instead, he would have seen that it was all his son’s fault and he would have paid to keep the mom and her children close to him so he could be with his grandchildren...it is my understanding that this character might have been autistic for these reasons as well as his obsession with art. The movie was deeply layered with conflicts and themes that were quickly resolved when Mr. Getty died as he was the root of despair and evil within the Getty family..Score: 5/5

Christopher Plummer is Perfect as GettyChristopher Plummer is perfect as Getty, as is Michelle; Mark Wahlberg does his Wahlberg thing well. We know exactly how Spacey would have played Getty — House of Cards with grey hair and without the southern accent. It's easy to imagine how Spacey would haver played Getty; it is impossible to imagine this movie without Christopher Plummer. Beyond that, it's a good movie, not a great one..Score: 4/5
Plummer is a legend in his own mindKnow him personally. Perfect for the part and all he had to do was act naturally. And Ridley is no Spielberg. Film lacked depth of emotion, characters were two dimensional. It was worth the $.99 rental and I can write it off..Score: 2/5

Not badIt was a goos movie i think. Good actinf. Its just that its really nothing new, but the kid is good and so is michelle williams. I was stressed toward the end so thats a good thing.
