From Disney and Director Ava DuVernay comes the epic adventure A Wrinkle In Time. After the disappearance of Meg Murry’s scientist father, three celestials—Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who—journey to Earth to help Meg search for him. Traveling via a wrinkling of time and space known as tessering, they are transported to worlds beyond their imagination, where they are confronted by an evil force. To make it home, Meg must face the darkness within herself and find the strength to defeat the darkness enveloping the Universe.

Ich situáciu skomplikuje zmiznutie ich otca pána Murreyho, ktoré má drvivý dopad na celú rodina a ich matke to zlomí srdce. Český Meg Murryová je typická středoškolačka, která bojuje s nízkým sebevědomím a která touží zapadnout. Je dcerou světoznámého fyzika, je inteligentní a talentovaná, stejně jako její mladší bratr, Charles Wallace, což si však Meg zatím neuvědomuje. Situaci silně zkomplikuje zmizení pana Murreyho, které Meg sklíčí a její matce zlomí srdce. Charles Wallace představí Meg a jejímu spolužákovi Calvinovi tři nebeské bytosti, které přicestovaly na Zemi, aby našli pana Murreyho. Společně se vydávají na dobrodružnou cestu. Pomocí skládání času a prostoru jsou přenášeni na světy za hranicemi fantazie, kde musí čelit mocné zlé síle. Na Zemi se Meg vrátí jen tehdy, když se naučí čelit temnotě ve svém nitru a najde sílu potřebnou k poražení temnoty, jež se rychle šíří vesmírem.

Guy-Blaché started her career as a secretary to Léon Gaumont and, at 23, was inspired to make her own film called La Fée aux Choux (The Cabbage Fairy), one of the first narrative films ever made. After her filmmaking career at Gaumont (1896-1907), she had a second decade-long career in the U.S., where she built and ran her own studio in Fort Lee, N.J.
Over the span of her career, she wrote, produced or directed 1,000 films, including 150 with synchronized sound during the ‘silent’ era. Her work includes comedies, westerns and dramas, as well as films with groundbreaking subject matter such as child abuse, immigration, Planned Parenthood, and female empowerment. She also etched a place in history by making the earliest known surviving narrative film with an all-black cast.
