A good effortGorgeously photographed, well-acted and with great production design. It's hard to fault this film (forgive the pun). However, tennis has bizarre scoring, and the filmmakers aren't quite able to convey just how crazy the wimbledon final was. In fact part of the problem is that the documentary (Fire and Ice) does a better job, from the horse's mouth, making this more of an exercise in filmmaking than essential viewing..Score: 3/5

I’m in awe of how good this isI am not usually a sports fan, but as an American growing up in the 80’s, John McEnroe was an iconic part of my childhood. This character driven film is riveting and extremely well cast, well acted & superbly crafted. I felt for both athletes. Since I did not look up the plot or outcome of this match ahead of time, it was such a great nailbiter. Definitely worth the money, and I wish I had seen it in the theater. Very good!A fun film about two interesting personalities. I started playing tennis about this time and Bjorn’s retirement has been the great mystery of the game. I don’t imagine John likes the film but that is not the focus of the film, it’s about Bjorn and his journey..Score: 4/5
One of the bestThis is one of the best sports movies I've seen, and I've seen them all. It takes you right to the heart of the competitive edge, making you feel the pulse of the players. Often with sport films it's about the main event or the peripheral events just surrounding it. Here, we get a glimpse of their younger years, what made them into the people you see on tv. Great performances by LeBeouf and Gudnason, both going all in. Great direction, cinematography, editing, and music. Thank you to all involved for making films like this. It's been a while..Score: 5/5
Good movie, but not perfectThis movie was really well done except for a few things. The way they show the action, it doesn't show enough of the players hitting the balls, not enough wide shots. I also think they didn't do a good job of helping non-tennis poeple understand the game and that final match. Other than that, Shia does an excellent job, as did Borg and the other actors, and the soundtrack is really good..Score: 4/5
Pleasantly SurprisedI’ll preface this by saying I’ve never been a big Shia fan, but he was terrific in this. As it’s a Swedish production it’s more of a Borg story than McEnroe’s. It’s still a great film that has a genuine feel of the times. I started watching it thinking I’d likely been turning it off but couldn’t stop watching. Great even if you’re not a fan of the sport or even sports films in general..Score: 5/5
Great MovieWonderfully filmed sports drama, as this is a Swedish film, it is not as upbeat "Hollywood style" as other productions in this genre, but this is actually rather refreshing and not less powerful. The acting is superb and the Björn Borg actor is a spitting image of the real guy. A great character study on two of the worlds best tennis players interesting and entertaining beyond the sport..Score: 5/5
