Good independent film but you have to be in the mood to watch it or it will seem boring. But that is what makes the pain more real and sad in this movie.
ALWAYS BE WEARY WHEN THE TOMATOMETER READS ANYTHING ABOVE 90% AND THE FANS ARE LESS THAN 4 1/2 STARS!!! THE "CRITICS" ARE USUALLY WRONG!!!
Slow, slow, slow....did I mention slow. Basic plot, no intrigue, the acting is B rated movie at best and the ending is terible. Don't wast your money. I don't know how it got a 100% from rotten tomatoes. If it seems to good to be true.....
I hope there are people who can find these kind of communities when they need to. What a wonderful movie: every frame rang true to me. Good to see Jeff Kober and Dale Dickey. Young woman, Tom, clearly remarkable and she sure held her own with Foster - and he was really good with her as well. This and Hell or High Water have helped me realize how good he is. Gently suspenseful and learned a few living-in-the-woods tricks. Highly recommend if this sounds appealing to you at all.
Some of the best acting ever on screen, captivating and non traditional. She is one of if not the greatest actress of all time. She is truly awe inspiring.
First, the movie is very slow paced. But, I also thought it didn’t delve deep enough into the background of why he is the way he is — always running/hiding from civilization. Also, never any background on why the girl’s mother is not around. Unless I missed that part because I was bored. The movie is essentially 2 hours of them hiking into the wilderness.
It is slow, but you cannot make a fast movie about PTSD. If you liked Dersu Uzala or Little House on the Prairie or Mary Poppins you will like this movie.
After seeing the very high-rating that this received on rotten tomatoes I jumped right into watch. The movie was very slow with a lot of disparate dialogue with many moments of silence. It also does not crescendo into an ending that justifies the slowness. Most defeinetly NOT worth a 10%
After watching this with interest, my wife and I looked at each other and exclaimed, “Is that it?” Not worth renting or buying.
It will keep you waiting for something to happen and it’s never happened it’s just long and boring as you can imagine we can it be. I want my hour and a half life back instead of watching two people and one is mentally crazy walking through the woods.
