Peppermint is an action thriller which tells the story of young mother Riley North (Jennifer Garner) who awakens from a coma after her husband and daughter are killed in a brutal attack on the family. When the system frustratingly shields the murderers from justice, Riley sets out to transform herself from citizen to urban guerilla. Channeling her frustration into personal motivation, she spends years in hiding honing her mind, body and spirit to become an unstoppable force – eluding the underworld, the LAPD and the FBI- as she methodically delivers her personal brand of justice.

Jennifer Garner is the female version of John Wick. Entertaining movie with lots of action. A viewer might think the plot is implausible, but who really cares? It’s fun to watch, and that’s what movies are all about. It’s nice to see a female character beat the bad guys to a pulp. 😂
The overall quality of the flick could be improved, but a very solid action movie indeed. I'm proud of Ms. Garner for "equalizing" the playing field. With a little more training and a better use of funds and personnel, you could have the making of a hit series. Everyone loves a could revenge movie or a movie in which the bad people get what they've got coming. Ms Garner has our attention. Don't wait too long before you make the next one.
The movie had everything... lots of action, never a slow moment, and the twist... it was great to watch the retaliation of a mother that loses her family... lots of father movies, but not mother... Jennifer Garner really pulled it off... I’ll be letting others know to watch...
This is definitely not a critical darling. Big whoop. It's a good story, it's well-acted, well-paced, and entertaing. Don't make this movie something it's not just take it for what it is. I enjoyed it and I think you will too.
From the director of Taken comes a movie that really makes the original Taken seem like a masterpiece. There are so many things wrong about this movie. I really cannot list them all. Overall I just found this movie unpleasant to sit through. As excited as I was to see Jennifer Garner explore some of her more physical roots and get as deeply involved with a picture like this as she did, she didn't manage to carry the movie at all. I found her character very inconsistant throughout the film. First we see her commiting bloody murder and taking vengeance into her own hands and then in the third act we hear her say that she is standing for justice. Call me old fashioned but vengeance and justice are two very differnt things. Aside from the character inconsistencies, the production value is low and it very much feels cheaply shot and edited. The action scenes aren't appealing and the CGI is very apparent in this film. The scene transitions feel like something out of a Saw film and that is closest thing to a compliment that I can give it. All in all it really does depend on what is motivating you to watch this film in the first place. If you just want to see a strong woman take down a bunch of guys and shove popcorn in your face while she is doing it, then that's fine. Just leave your appreciation of things like decently shot action and character building at the door. I give it a 2 out of 10.
This movie was like a female version of John Wick and not only that this movie was amazing including the action scenes.
Jennifer Garner does great work here despite the outlandish premise. Decent perfomances by the supporting cast as well but the worst offender is the writing which was incredibly simplistic and lame. I want to like this movie, but it's not a good movie. I thought there was going to be a larger plot at the tag which would may have saved it for me. What it does show, however, is the ineptness of government to do basically anything except pump out statistics about things that already happened.
You won’t be disappointed!!!
The movie Peppermint kept us on the edge of our seats. Sidney Bristol is back with vengeance.
This movie is 5 stars.
