Three of the greatest legends in wine meet to drink the rarest bottles of their careers, while the best blind tasters of today gather to settle an age-old argument. The results could change the world of wine forever.
. Three legends in the world of wine - Fred Dame, Steven Spurrier and Jancis Robinson - sit down in Paris to taste the rarest bottles of their careers. Meanwhile, Dustin Wilson gathers the greatest blind tasters of today in New York City for a secret tasting similar to the original Judgment of Paris, with the goal to see if any of the world’s Pinot Noirs can stand up to the greatest Burgundies of France. In the end, both tastings cross with results that could change the world of wine forever.. Somm 3 Wiki
I loved Somm 1, didn’t think there could be a better one. This one came really close, maybe even better.
I thought the documentary was excellent. It was relaxing, the shots were beautiful, and the cast was excellent. Of course, the documentary involved the people we followed in the first two films, but we got to see new faces in this one, and they were great. If you aren't heavily involved in the wine world, then you may not know their names or faces, and it was refreshing to listen to them talk about wine and taste wine. Incredible documentary.
Budda. He’s a sweet guy and his wine makes me want to slap my mammy. Well done y’all
If you are into wine this series has become mandatory viewing in the best way. Each one builds on the last yet contrasts enough to stay interesting and relevant.
In order to thoroughly enjoy this film you do not need to have seen the first two, but knowing the history and impressive credentials of the characters makes this even more exciting. The movie delves into three of the most influential people in the wine world, how and why they got into wine, and how they’re influence affects the wine industry. They each come from different parts of the world and it’s interesting how their own personal wine journeys have shaped the way they view wine. My favorite part was the blind Pinot Noir tasting. Few documentaries can transcend the screen to change your life like Somm 1,2 and 3 have for me. That might seem like a bold statement but as the person in my relationship that gets to choose the wine at restaurants (and at home!) being able to watch other people look outside of Oregon and California and enjoy Pinots from other places in the world was very eye opening. I would’ve liked to have seen more of the original Somm 1 guys, but was happy to see they’re still involved in the series. Looking forward to Somm 4!
Great movie showcasing the direction wine is heading and where our inspiration has come from. It’s important to respect our influences of the past but also recognize where we are going. Trust your own palate!
Watch the best of the best drink some rare gems and fall in love with their beautiful minds! Great flick! #sommapproved #getyourcrushon #cantwaitforsomm4
The Somm movies aim to take the everyday enthusiast into the world of wine, and Somm 3 does just that. It may not be as entertaining as Somm 1 or visual as Somm 2, but you will appreciate what Somm 3 delivers. There is so much to learn and enjoy in wine, and these movies don’t disappoint!
Having seen the first two Somm movies, I had high expectations for this film. And I was not disappointed! This doc focuses on the importance of tasting wine. You follow three greats in the wine industry as they taste through the wine that changed their lives. You also follow Dustin as he leads a Pinot noir wine tasting with some great people in the industry. Somm 3 inspired me to think of which wine changed my life. Absolutely fantastic third film in a wonderfully curated documentary series about the wine industry.
This certainly lives up to the expectations set by the first two. The art of blind tasting truly on display by some of the worlds best Sommeliers and storytellers! The added touch of the specially selected bottles with each backstory is incredible. If you haven’t watched the first two you must go get them and watch now. The story and inside jokes in this third installment will mean so much more! Spectacular job and thank you for working to always improve. It shows in the results from 1 to 3! Can’t wait to get my hands on your next project 😊
Somm 3 was the perfect way to sum up the first two films while at the same time going completely in another direction; that of the “a-hah” bottle. The documentary was easily accessible and enjoyable to any level of wine drinker (since most of us aren’t drinking 1959 bottles 😁). This is the perfect watch if you’re looking for something that delves into the intricacies of wine drinking, studying, and living.
The wait is over! Watched this film last night. I enjoyed every aspect and hope another is in the works!
The direction really uped their game from prior films. Great cast and original story. Highly recommended
very much enjoyed Somm III, felt it was a culmination of the enjoyment and history of wine, loved seeing all of the veterans just enjoy wine and not worry about the labels, thank you for such a beautiful film
I have watched the first 2 movies several times each already and plan to do the same with this one. Loved how it brought together some of the best wine tasters in the world. It did not disappoint and it may be the best one yet!!
An articulate and refined wine documentary. This film has a particular story to tell and a point to make. Beautifully shot and crafted, and oh the wines they open! Watch this one and then go back to re-watch Somm and Somm: Into the Bottle.
I loved this documentary. As a wine lover and enthusiast I found this so interesting. Lots of useful tips and tricks about wine. Thanks for such a great thing to watch. Cheers
3rd in a series of insightful documentaries. As soon as I finished this, I went back and watched #1 and #2
