Okay, first of all, NO clue about the Books, but LOVE the Movie! Solid characters and story, well developed. Awesome acting from all main characters! It’s a real gripping movie, captivating until the end! A true MUST SEE!
No tangible plot or backstory
This is the kind of movie I save for watching in a flight where I am drifting between sleep and wakefulness. I think that is the only way I can enjoy this kind of terrible story and acting. I wanted to see if only because Peter Jackson was associated with it. What a disappointment!
Saw it today and it is so good
I just don't understand. 26% on Rotten Tomatoes? I put it off because of the bad reviews and only picked it up today because I was bored. SO glad that I did. I am NOT a film critic, but it was really a neat movie. Concepts that were amazing, big creepy factor (making people into sausage...um, no) the CGI was stunning and the story (while outlandish) was great. Last I knew, every sci-fi/post apocolyptic movie is. Great movie.
911: This is 911 what is your emergency? Caller: HELP my son just watched MORTAL ENGINES and he's on the floor floping like a fish and foaming at the mouth 911: Ma'am I need you to calm down, did he watch part of the movie or the whole thing Caller : I think it was the whole movie...SEND HELP NOW 911: Ok ma'am I need you to roll him on his side and make sure he dosen't swallow his tongue help is on the way
Typical overblown CGI with no heart or depth. The characters aren't relatable and the story just isn't there. Stick with the books and save your money on this one and dont buy it.
This movie is bad. It's a don't think about it, because if you do it wont make any sort of sense kind of movie. Visuals are big, but the script is sci-fi channel... and bad sci-fi channel at that
Seems as though the producers rushed the editing and used the action sequences to make up for hurried and unnecessary character development. As the action heightens, the movie slows for several “nothing” scenes that only serve to frustrate the viewer. I do not recommend but you should watch it anyways as some of the visuals are pretty cool.
We watched this as a family and it was unanimous, by one one of our favorite movies. Want to read the series now. Hope they make the sequel! Great family entertainment.
Terrible movie. Had us on the edge of our seats the entire time …feverishly trying to figure out the plot. The best part of the movie was the end credits.
4 Stars I really love when a movie can take you on an adventure, letting reality fall away as you forget about the world around you. it was well conceptualized, giving perspective when needed and not holding back too much from the viewer, while still allowing for an intricate and exciting story to unfold before your eyes.
Excellent film et excellente histoire! J’ai adoré ❤️
Roman que j’ai adoré donc le film en étais encore plus fascinant !
I don’t think this movie is nearly so bad as lots of critics have declared. It has simple story we’ve seen before, with simple characters we’ve seen before, but it is crafted competently (for the most part). The actors are good, I particularly enjoyed Sheehan as Tom, and Hugo Weaving never fails. The script gives them very little to work with, of course. The visuals astound, and the musical score is exhilarating. Ultimately it’s an enjoyable movie with memorable style but forgettable substance. Occasionally very stupid, but more often than not, it’s quite entertaining.
