We watched this as a family and it was unanimous, by one one of our favorite movies. Want to read the series now. Hope they make the sequel! Great family entertainment.
Awesome movie!! Bought it afterwards!
Good movie to just escape into Hollywood magic. Great visuals, and high post production quality. The color palette and color grading of the film was done very well, and the CGI was believable. Acting was just ok, but didn’t take away from the draw of the film. I enjoyed it.
The F is for FORGET this movie if you can. So much potential…Wasted.
Visuals, great. Characters, there were characters? Story? Pick one, there were like 20 running around all at once rushing to say something and managed to say nothing. If I’m not mistaken, the space ships look ok a lot like the Petr Jackson AR demo he did a few years ago. Was this movie a trial run for AR tech because the story was just terrible
They put so much work into this movie, you can hardly pan it. It feels like they copied a lot of other movies. A lot to criticize. Stupid male hero. Lucky lead female. Outside forces always save the day. Forgetable.
What a wonderful ride this was. Not too serious, but a fun fantasy, and, even though it's placed in a future fictional universe, it actually qualifies as the first real steampunk movie I've ever come across. I very much enjoyed the fun of it and the depth of detail in it's world. It hinted at a fully realized past hisatory without boring you by trying to fill that out, which is a real accomplishment. The only thing that detracted from the flick to me was Hester's complete submission to Tom - she's a stron =c character who should have stood on her own, Besides that, loved this for it's lightness and details, to the point I will buy it.
The movie marvels in creating its own universe on an unimagineable scale, BUT....we've seen it all before: Star Wars, Stardust, Anything by Terry Gilliam, ESPECIALLY Into the Badlands, definitely Suckerpunch, and if the movie has one issue, is that it's bot clear who we should root for. A massive ride, yes. but could have been more fun.
Forget the bad reviews. This was awesome and cgi was so realistic than I ever seen before. Heck I buy it. Why rent. Redbox is keeps raising their price and the itune rental is just as bad with their price. At $6, yeah right. Who would spend that to rent. Redbox is at $2 or more now, depends on dvd or blue rays. Keeps getting higher. Used to be 99 cents. So buy it. You all will love the movie like I did.
We went in with low expectations but I have to say this was an exciting movie from start to finish. A couple holes here and there in the storyline but all in all I thought it was an excellent film.
