Literally one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I cannot believe this got financed. Ugh.
This movie started off being horrible and I tried so hard to give it a chance but I didn't even get through half of it before I turned it off. Characters and dialogue were so iritating/abrasive, the story was so disjointed, slow, and not interesting. I found it unbearable to watch. Maybe one of the worst films I've ever seen.
I love this movie. Its the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen
Very touching and the cast did a great job. Thank you
Anyone who’s given the movie under three stars has never suffered a traumatic event, this is really accurate and the cast is perfect for the roles.
I so wanted to like this movie. From the early previews, I thought it sounded like a great story. Then I found out it was a true story - even better. Then I saw the movie... Ugh. What a huge disappointment! Hollywood screw it up again with a massive SJW message. Lame story, worse characters, and poor production. It was just terrible.
Heart felt and funny. It was a pleasant surprise!
If you’re into main characters that have a high heel fetish and a feminist message, this movie is for you. I found it too SJW to enjoy and couldn’t finish it.
I took a friend to see this. On my birthday. I wish it was my deathday instead. High hopes coming from brilliant actors and an amazing director!!! Wow! Two hours of of celluloid $#!+ that I deserved to lose a friend over. As a trama survivor, I anticipated the process and interpretation. I appreciated the cinematic prowess but I would rather have Gigli on repeat with the soundtrack of Frozen blaring on cracked speakers while drinking curdled warm milk... Ok that's too far - I definitely couldn't stomach the Frozen soundtrack; so, I'll let that Go.
This story is touching, funny, and is a great lesson in humanity. The visual effects with the dolls is really well done too
Great movie! Don’t listen to the negative reviews. This movie is full of heart and very well directed!
I dont understand the negative reviews. The animation is very good and fun, and the way the story os told through the animation and steve carrel’s action figures, and he feels and sees things is incredibly original and heartfelt. I don't remember seeing ptsd told that qay. Love leslie mann too and the other that was in nurse jackie. Very touching at times, well for me !
The subtleties of this film are easily overlooked if the viewer simply takes the story at face value. In the imagination of Mark Hogancamp, anything goes, but the scenarios that unfold, however extravagant, are rooted in his salvation and in his desire to honour, in his own way, those that represent that salvation. Look beyond the surface of this film and understand that this is a glimpse into a flawed but quietly hopeful healing process, and maybe you’ll catch a glimpse of what it’s really about.
