Bright Sun Films Has Done It Big“Whaaattttt’s up guys!” Jake and his Bright Sun Films crew has done it again and this time for a bigger screen. This film tells some great stories and really moves Bright Sun into its next phase. Thanks for the time and dedication to give us this time capsule on video. Jazzland, Closed for Storm, Live Forever in Our HeartsThis film is incredible! I’ve been a fan of this Bright Sun Films guy for a few years now, and I’ve always been impressed by his content. The soundtrack is heartwarming and enhances each scene well. It’s a great blend of urban exploration and documentary filming. If you’re a BSF fan, I reccomend it. If you’re a fan of theme parks, I reccomend it. A solid 13/10 from me..Score: 5/5

Really disappointing and repetitiveI’ve been a longtime fan of Bright Sun Films’ Abandoned series on YouTube. Had expected this to be a notch up from those short form productions. Seriously, Jake and BSF do a great job with those videos and was excited that they took a shot at something bigger. But this was bad. Really bad. Highly repetitive, constantly revisiting the single statement of how horrible it was to just let the site deteriorate for 15 years. Agreed, but do we just have to hear the obvious over and over again? Some of those interviewed were interesting, having had a significant role with the park when open, or actively pursuing its redevelopment. But there were far too many people interviewed who really had no deep connection to the park and provided little insight into the park’s history or demise. Boring. Not insightful. And even veered off to being a sub-par Katrina documentary at times when it looked like they ran out of content on the park itself. Was almost nice to have a musical score, but the mixing was poor and Jake’s narration was almost buried at several points. His YouTube videos are much more tightly edited and mixed than this. Jake is usually a GREAT storyteller with a well planned script, but this “movie” went nowhere, and provided FAR less information and a less engaging story than any of his 20 minute YouTube videos. Was initially excited to support Jake with this purchase, but this wouldn’t have been worth a free YouTube viewing. Very disappointed in this expensive purchase..Score: 1/5
Excellent DocumentaryAs someone who grew up being a coaster and amusement park enthusiast, this was an extra exciting film about how a theme fate after Hurricane Katrina decimated it along with the rest of the community. It’s very interesting and sad how much the city of East New Orleans was affected by the hurricane. Great job to Jake Williams and the filmmakers..Score: 5/5
Theme Park History 101This film is an instant Theme Park History Documentary. A film category that rarely gets covered! Enjoy this Rare, Breathgiving, Inspiring peek into an actual Abandoned Theme Park in New Orleans East. The hope this park inspired to only be flooded with a distasteful storm that ripped the roots of the community out along with an probability of the ruined Theme Park Eyesore. I was worried seeing the people affected and the lack of Government foresight or the lack of future site planning leads me to believe that this issue is far from being resolved. Congratulations and I wish all of Bright Sun Film success in an future films. This film is an amazing watch!.Score: 5/5
A big-budget TriumphIf you know Bright Sun Films, hosted by Jake Williams, you know it’s a channel that puts out movie-quality videos on an impressively regular basis. With that in mind, I just want to say that this movie is a big-budget YouTube video in the best way. It’s insightful, interesting, well-edited, and emotionally resonant. With the same narration and urban exploration segments as the YouTube videos, plus the added-value elements of heightened cinematography, interviews, a 75-minute runtime, and a beautiful score, Closes for Storm is an instant classic for existing fans of BSF and anyone who’s into urban exploration, abandoned properties, theme park history, or documentary filmmaking in general. I can’t wait to see what Jake puts out next!.Score: 5/5

Fantastic documentary!I’ve been a subscriber of Jake Williams’ Youtube channel Bright Sun Films for about two years, and as an urban explorer he makes wonderful videos about abandoned places. This documentary takes a deeper look into the history of the Six Flags New Orleans amusement park, and how it continues to stand as a monument to the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina in the New Orleans East area.
