Welcome to Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super‐Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out— join the super‐secret, supershady Task Force X. Today’s do‐ordie assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin , Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them on the remote, enemy‐infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search‐and‐destroy mission, with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave…and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every move. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself).

Supervillains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker and a collection of nutty cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X as they are dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese.

One of the best DCEU filmsThis is miles better than the first SS film, but as always if its different from anything before Zack Snyder got fired it’s bad. Give me a break this film has great action, its funny the story is good, and the soundtrack is good. I highly recommend this film, fyi it is rated R for a reason though. It’s by far one of the best DCEU films out, MOS is still top for me but I’ll put this 3rd close behind Wonder Women..TheRob88Score: 5/5

Edgelord on steroidsThis movie seemed way more concerned with being edgy and violent than with presenting an interesting, or rewarding story. Where hints of morality or conscience could have been introduced into the “bad guys,” presenting interesting people, jokes or utterly vain, selfish decisions reign instead. The movie is visually interesting, but bogged down with borderline unpleasant comedy (a few jokes do work very well, admittedly), pointless gore, and horrible people. Cut from a Sonnenfeld MIB template…Suicide Squad is an improvement over Birds of Prey though I would have preferred a less derivative film. Opening the movie with a Johnny Cash song was a bad sign indicating a lack of imagination that foreshadowed a film apparently cut from a Sonnenfeld MIB template. MIB - like characters, the Weasel, Ratcatcher, King Shark etc. created a fun sense of non-threatening ridiculousness throughout. I personally missed Harley Quinn’s scant outfits exhibited in Suicide Squad 2016. Harley’s figure was hot stuff, and her obliviousness to her near nudity made her unpredictable insanity more endearing… That said, we did see Peacemaker in his strategically padded tightey whiteys, but I’m not sure why. Suicide Squad 2016 is still my favorite, Birds of Prey a waste of time, and Suicide Squad (2021) has a change of direction placing it securely at #2 in the trilogy..NyctelecasterScore: 4/5

Way better than 2016s versionThis film is an upgrade to the original by a long shot. Characters seem far more expressive, humour matches more in and the tone of the film is consistent. The chemistry between the characters is also well done. James Gunn directed guardians of the galaxy so we were expecting something goofy yet edgy and this film contributed to that. Better than the firstI did enjoy this version much more than the first attempt and the humour in this was great. I was suprised at the fact that there is no iTunes extras with this, for the price one would think there would be but there is nothing other than the movie. Not perfect but……“The Suicide Squad” isn’t perfect. It’s an exhibit for what can happen when a superhero movie includes R rated violence, gore, and language. There are plenty of dull moments, but when it pops, it pops. In the end it’s too predictable but it provided enough entertainment for watching. I definitely recommend it.
