A Misunderstood MasterpiecePeople down the comments are only hating this film because of its "pedophilia nature" when in reality, it's hardly the case. The story treats the romance ambiguously if they were gonna hook up or not and keep in mind, this takes place in the 1970s. An era where age gaps didn't matter. PTA did justice for making a film perfectly aligning realism of the 70s. And this is coming from me who was born in the 90s who LOVES 70s culture by cinema and music..Score: 5/5

CreepyThe acting was good and the surprise of notable actors was really good. Penn, Waits, Cooper were terrific. But I find the premise of the story pretty creepy. A 25 yo woman loving a 15 yo boy. They put people in jail for these types of relationships. How does this fair with youngsters watching this movie? I just don't get it..Score: 2/5

Watch it for the acting, not the scriptAlana Haim and Cooper Hoffman give wonderful performances, helping to bring to life a screenplay that is often times so disjointed you'll be left wondering what Anderson's motivation truly was for making this film. I get it, a 28 year old woman falls in love with a 15 year old boy -- wait, what?! Do not expect PTA's usual cinematic genius with this one; you'll be sorely disappointed..Score: 3/5

Not for the SJWsWhat a film.. very strange, but a beautiful and very funny piece of art. For being a low budget indie film it does punch above it’s weight class, it shows a reality that once was and still is, if you understand the world beyond what you’re told to believe, you’ll appreciate the details. All those complaining are just “woke” SJWs getting their panties in a bunch, don’t pay much mind as they all live in their entitled fantasy land..Score: 5/5
