Produced by Cameron and his longtime partner Jon Landau, the Lightstorm Entertainment production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis and Kate Winslet. Joining the illustrious adult cast are talented newcomers Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Bailey Bass and Jack Champion. Over-hyped epicIt's an incredibly realistic CG rendering of an alternate planet ecosystem. Its battle scenes will thrill video game players. Its morailty message is about as subtle as a hand grenade. A travesty.First off, I was a “super” Avatar fan, having seen the original a dozen times in iMax, I own every blue ray disk from theatrical release to all the extended versions. The fastest way to describe this sequel is to visualize Cameron handing the script for the original to his writers with “do the same thing, but in the water instead” written across the page. However, it is hard to believe it took a decade and a half to release the sequel. He reused dead characters(and ripped a concept from Altered Carbon along the way), dialogue is startling similar, as are some of the visuals to the original. To make matters worse, the story makes no sense. I won’t post spoilers but sidelining jake and neytiri to dwell on their kids? Who thought that would be a good idea? Why does a mighty warrior, Toruk Makto become a side line in the Navi culture? Jake is reduced to pleading with the water people every time something goes wrong? As for the visuals, there are certainly some beautiful scenes but the original is far better. I watched it after this mess and it is better in every way. The movie ends with the same visual as the original and the expectations are the next one will rehash things again..DillusionedScore: 2/5

DissappointingI fell in love with the first one, and after watching the second one I was blown away on how cheesy this movie was. I finished the movie feeling confused and suckered for the 10 year wait. So much hype and so much dissappointment in just 3+ hours, It felt hurried and half done. Of all the movies James Cameron has made, this one feels like a huge scam and lead people to believe this was going to be better, broke records at the box office what a shame.
