In Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” our beloved band of misfits is looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), still reeling from a terrible loss, must rally his team and embark on a dicey, action-packed mission to defend the universe and protect Rocket. Meanwhile, a new, unpredictable force threatens to bring the Guardians down for good. “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is written and directed by James Gunn. Forget all the negative hypeThis is easily the greatest of the 3 Guardians movies. Some people say it’s too dark compared to the first 2 but the emotional journey of this film is perfectly blended with gravitas, humor, and shenanigans.

Not worth your timeThis was a horrible, horrible film. It just kept getting worse as it rolled on. I finally hit the stop button with 1 hour and 20 minutes yet to play. The sets were cheap, jokes terrible. Not even adding Nathan Fillion to the cast could save this thing. Everyone on that set looked silly.
Rocket’s backstory was interesting, and added depth but could not save the film.
I very much enjoyed the first two films and looked forward to this one.

Great closureThe way this finished off and included bits from all three previous films and included Easter eggs from the Christmas special… well played. I thought it could be better. I wanted it to be better. It was done differently than I had anticipated and in walking away it gave all the closure required to move on to the next series. Sure you could hope certain people get back together but…. now they have lives which can expand and explore beyond what lives they could have had together. Now if their lives cross paths again they will be richer and even more developed characters making them and their relationship stronger. Sad things didn’t work out, sad to see them go.
