AdorableAs a 90s millennial kid who grew up with these movies, I was hesitant since this had big shoes to fill. But I ended up REALLY enjoying this. Halle and Jonah were fantastic and believable as Ariel and Eric, the songs were great, and even the new Flounder warmed my heart. Very true to the original and the slight changes were well thought out and added to the story. Definitely recommend!.Score: 5/5
Amazing movie! Plus a suggestion for the App Store 😊This is a suggestion for the App Store. People should only be allowed to leave a review for the movie if they have purchased it. As we can see from the reviews here people made a point to have come & give low ratings. Which is fine if they bought & saw the movie and didn’t like it. However, the amount of hate this movie got & all live action remakes get I do doubt that these people actually bought the movie & left reviews. Rather they came in already hating the movie & chose not to purchase it. That being said I loved The Little Mermaid & I think anyone that was a fan of the original will love Halle as Ariel & will really enjoy the new adaptation!.Score: 5/5

Beautiful MovieThe movie was great! Halle Bailey was FANTASTIC in the title role. She has the PERFECT voice for Ariel and her acting was also great. Apart from Ariel’s desire to explore everything the human land has to offer, the core of this story is the chemistry and relationship between Ariel and Eric. This movie took the lovely relationship the animated movie and developed it more/built upon it. Eric felt like a multidimensional character and his relationship with Ariel felt more developed, more organic, more natural and built on mutual understanding and compassion just as much as attraction. The relationship was just more grounded and felt more real. Also, loved that Eric had his own song and Jonah did a beautiful job with it. Melissa McCarthy was great as Ursula and I loved her rendition of Poor Unfortunate Souls. Jessica Alexander was great and quite terrifying as Vanessa, she made great use of the he limited time she had on screen. I loved Daveed Diggs as Sebastian and the dynamic with Awkwafina as Scuttle was really good, they applauded off of each other very well (even though The Scuttlebutt won’t be everyone’s cup of tea). Jacob Tremblay as Flounder sounded adorable, he did an awesome job. Loved the Queen and Grimsby, the actors gave solid performances. As for Javier Bardem as King Triton, I liked his character more towards the end when he showed a little bit more emotion, the final scene between him and Ariel was very touching. So that was for the acting, in terms of the music and singing, the orchestra was simply amazing. All the purely instrumental tracks were great and the arrangements for the songs really supported and blended with the singing. Halle Bailey was simply magnificent, absolutely glad they gave her more to sing with the second reprise (heart wrenching) and For The First Time which was a beautiful addition to the soundtrack. I a already mentioned Melissa’s song being great and Daveed Diggs did a wonderful job both singing and rapping. As for Jonah, the raw emotion he put into Wild Uncharted Waters was perfect for the song and his singing was really good. My only minus, is that I would have loved for Ariel’s sisters to be more present. Hopefully that will happen if there’s a sequel, would absolutely love it if there was one..Score: 5/5
