Dies tut er auch prompt und entwickelt ungeahnte Footballfähigkeiten. Sein Trainer ist davon ganz entzückt und will ihn sofort in sein Team aufnehmen, doch die Mutter des Waterboy ist strikt dagegen. Als dann zu allem Überfluss noch ein Spiel gegen seinen ehemaligen Verein ansteht, stellt sich heraus das er eigentlich gar keinen Schulabschluss hat und gar nicht spielen dürfte. Während er also seinen Schulabschluss nachholen möchte, findet seine Mutter heraus das er "den Sport des Teufels" macht. Das gefällt ihr nun gar nicht ...
