In the wake of a joyful wedding between Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and Troi (Marina Sirtis), Picard receives another reason to celebrate: the Romulans want peace and the captain will be the Federation's emissary. But as the EnterpriseTM heads toward the Romulan Empire, a brilliant villain awaits - harboring a diabolical plan of destruction and an unimaginable secret that will give Picard his most fearsome challenge.
En route to the honeymoon of William Riker to Deanna Troi on her home planet of Betazed, Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise receives word from Starfleet that a coup has resulted in the installation of a new Romulan political leader, Shinzon, who claims to seek peace with the human-backed United Federation of Planets. Once in enemy territory, the captain and his crew make a startling discovery: Shinzon is human, a slave from the Romulan sister planet of Remus, and has a secret, shocking relationship to Picard himself.

Possibly the Best Star Trek MovieI see where many of the people who dislike this movie are coming from: bits of the plot seemed ripped off from earlier movies, however the special effects and cinematography were exceptional. The film had a very distinct atmosphere . . . close enough to still be Star Trek, but unique enough to make it feel new and interesting. And as for the visual effects — they are truly stunning, and even more so when you consider that the movie was made in the early 2000’s. Although the ending was sad, even that was brilliantly executed (no pun intended), giving it meaning and purpose, as well as the possibility for a new beginning (I won’t say anymore as to not ruin the ending for those who haven’t watched the movie). Having watched every single Star Trek TV episode, and all of the 12 movies, I can safely say that this is one of my favorites..Score: 5/5
AwesomeI couldn't help but notice that this film has gotten bad reviews left and right. But, personally, I think that this was one of the best films of the Star Trek franchise (next to First Contact and the new Star Trek movie), and that it provided an appropriate ending to the Next Generation storyline. Really people, this is a good film. P.S: I can't really say, though, that I was happy about one of my favorite characters of the entire franchise getting killed off. It made sense, but it was still quite depressing..Score: 5/5
Didn’t age wellWe rented this movie only to catch up to the plot of Picard (the Amazon show) as it refers to this movie a lot. I have seen the original series back in its day and loved it. This movie felt like a double episode of a weekly episode. The plot and acting were really poor and the special effects didn’t age well at all. It just seems silly. The plot also didn’t make to much sense. First he tries to destroy the mighty Federation then he is after Picard only to settle on destroying the earth. Of course the Enterprise already in shambles, defeats it all. Well the Picard show makes at least little more sense now. Still this move was like a nose bleed that never wanted to end..Score: 2/5
A Horrible Way to End A SeriesWhile I suppose the title pretty much said what was on my mind, I'd still like to say there are times when...and they lived happily ever after, is appropriate. This should have been the way this one ended. Killing off Data was probably one of those ideas that seemed great in theory but in reality it was just a slap in the face to every loyal Star Trek friend/fan out there! At least in our minds we should have been able to think that one day he too became captain of a ship...perhaps Enterprise F as he would have existed long enough to see it happen, although even having him work as a professor at Cambridge with a horrid gray streak might have better! I wouldn't even illegally download this one!.Score: 2/5

An underrated star trek movie that people love to hateI don't really under why people think this is the worst of the new star trek movies. i also never really understood why people thought first contact was so awesome. don't get me wrong, first contact was quite good, and it certainly lived up to the hype of its being the movie about borg. but this one, nemesis, wowed me more. it was darker, grittier, the special effects better, and not as stereotypical as far as star trek movies go. i really thought this one was quite decent, and is as good as first contact in my book.Score: 4/5
Good endingI would have given this movie five stars, as it wrapped up the TNG series and was overall a very good movie. The wedding was funny (expecially when Data sang), though the whole dunebuggy chase was kind of unnnessacary and clashed with the seriousness of what was actually going on. However, since Data died at the end-even though it was to save the rest of the Enterprise crew- I can only give it four stars. How is it that during the only two Star Trek Movies I've seen, Star Treck II: The Wrath of Khan and this movie, Star Trek X: Nemesis, my favorite characters died!?! Granted, I found out later that Spock was brought back in Star Trek III: the Search for Spock..Score: 4/5

Nemesis IndeedThe TNG movies were never much more than longer versions of the tv show, and this one fits that mold. NOT a real Star Trek film. Pure crap.Spoiler alert : I'm going to be mentioning specifics in this review. I'll be honest. I'm a Star Trek fan so I can't rate this movie as just a sci-fi movie. My rating is based on it being a Star Trek The Next Generation movie. That being said, I would like to put forward the notion that this movie was made by a team of people that hated everything normal TNG fans loved about the show. Picard displays not a shred of intellect in this film, insted bouncing around and yelling in a dune buggy like a teenage idiot, Troi and Riker are quickly married off to resolve that whole issue, Data gets blown to bits to make all the "I hate Data" folks happy, we get a clone of Picard that doesn't resemble Picard in any way shape or form...so why bother? In fact, there isn't one single thing in this movie that makes any sense. It is an atrocious attempt at a Star Trek TNG film and it was a horrible send off to the franchise, and it lowered my opinion of all the TNG actors for even being part of this braindead tripe. Watch Insurrection, the best of the new Star Trek movies, and call it a day. That's where TNG should of ended..Score: 1/5
