John Travolta and Lisa Kudrow make a "high-energy comedy team" in this side-splittingly funny comedy inspired by a real-life scam to win the Pennsylvania lottery. Travolta "is truly irresistible" as Russ Richards, a weatherman in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Russ is a local celebrity, but when an unusually mild winter causes his snowmobile dealership to take a plunge, Russ needs a get-rich scheme - and fast. With his greedy girlfriend (Lisa Kudrow) - the TV's station's lotto-ball girl - and a criminally minded buddy (Tim Roth), Russ hatches a plan to fix the lottery. Russ's numbers come up right, but then everything goes completely wrong, throwing Russ and his co-conspirators into comic chaos. Directed by Nora Ephron (Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail) and co-starring Ed O'Neill, Michael Rapaport and Bill Pullman, Lucky Numbers is a comedy jackpot for film fans.

Lucky NumbersAn almost total waste of electrons, and an even bigger waste if, like me, you rented it in HD. It's hard to believe that some otherwise moderately talented people were associated with this lifeless clunker, which I imagine went direct to video. BoringI watched a short preview of this movie and thought it looked funny so I put it on my iPod to watch during a long road trip. I ended up starting it 3 different times because everytime I tried watching I fell asleep. The first hour was the only part I watched of the movie and finally decided it was just one of those not so great films. I wouldn't recommend it unless someone has absolutely nothing to do on a rainy day..Score: 2/5
It's good.I understand some of the bad reviews. i suppose this movie is not for everyone. However, if, in your heart of hearts, you think that the world is full of soulless, corrupt people. If you think those people are pathetic yet funny. If you enjoy seeing a few of those people brought low. This might be the Saturday night laff fest for you. There are no decent, regular folks in this movie. Everyone's a rat. Everyone gets what they've got coming. I laughed and laughed..Score: 4/5
Good movie...keeps you interested...I bought this movie because it was filmed in my home town (Mechanicsburg, PA) and it was kinda a novelty to see a movie that was filmed near where I lived. Another such movie is Girl, Interrupted. I've actually sat in the booth at Denny's that John Travolta sat in. There are some familiar faces as far as actors go, which is pretty cool too. The plot is interesting and at times humorous, and while I wish it would've been available for rent on iTunes when I decided to buy it off of iTunes, it was a worthwhile purchase. I recommend at least renting this movie..Score: 4/5

A Good but not Great MovieJohn Travolta is such a versatile actor he can play any genre or any male role & make it work. He has done a few really bad movies in his day but his acting is always good. This movie, so long as it stays at this discounted price, is a good deal. It has a lot of bad reviews which kind of surprises me but everybody is different and buying any movie is a gamble because if you do not like it you have just wasted your hard earned money. However, considering the low price of this movie why not take the gamble here & see for yourself..Score: 4/5
Mildly entertainingI never heard of this movie until I saw it on iTunes and after watching it I now know why. The story line is somewhat predictable in the way events unfold and the characters are average at best. In a nutshell the story is about about a weatherman (Travolta) working at the local TV station who made some bad investments and is about to lose his life of luxury due to a run of bad luck. Travolta and his shady friend hatch a plan to rig the state lottery and retire rich. The plan involves the station's lottery "ball girl" who is eager to join in. They manage to win the lottery and that's where the problems start. The three end up dealing with the station manager who finds out about their little scam, a local bookie who also finds out and a hit man who wants in on the action. There are some funny moments but this is a movie you only want to watch when you really have nothing else to do and just want to relax in front of the TV. My advice is buy this movie and archive for a really rainy day..Score: 3/5
