When an asteroid threatens to collide with Earth, NASA honcho Dan Truman determines the only way to stop it is to drill into its surface and detonate a nuclear bomb. This leads him to renowned driller Harry Stamper, who agrees to helm the dangerous space mission provided he can bring along his own hotshot crew. Among them is the cocksure A.J. who Harry thinks isn't good enough for his daughter, until the mission proves otherwise.

Someone please stop Michael BayThis is not quite as bad as Bad Boys 2 or Pearl Harbor, but still really aweful. The ultra-fast editing makes the action hard to follow and the camera work makes you feel like you're watching a commercial or music video. The characters are very cartoonish and unbelievable. But the worst thing about the movie is the screenplay. There are so many plot holes and scientific errors it's not even worth counting. Did these guys at least take astronomy class? Not to mention it gave me a ripping headache afterwards. Grade: F.T-1000Score: 1/5

Loved it since the first time I saw it:)I realize that this movie might be a far cry from reality, so those of you that are looking for real-life drama, it may not be your kind of movie. For those people who are looking for a movie with action, drama, romance, comedy, and suspense, I highly recommend. Great ending, but I won't spoil it for those of you who have never seen it. A piece of my brain is now deadThis is easily one of the worst movies in the history of mankind. I watched it, not expecting Aristotle or Shakespeare; it’s science fiction adventure fluff, after all, right? But this is SO bad. The premise is not just fantastical (as sci fi/advernture should be), but just so stupidly implausible, and they repeat, nonstop. Oil well drillers being sent to drill into an asteroid? because drilling oil wells gives one a good background for that? Because Astronauts can’t be trained to drill, but drillers can be trained to be astronauts (in just a few hours)? But let’s pretend we can get over that. It’s actually the writing that is horrid in this. Every ounce of dialogue is written as if it came from a cheesy Harlequin romance, crossed with Glenn Beck and a touch of horrid spaghetti western. Every single line, from professions of undying love, to love of God and Country, to rallying cries meant to demonstrate the grit and determination of the working man, every line, is just SO awful, it belongs in a ninth grade high school yearbook. And they can’t stop; those lines come one after the other, literally seconds apart. You are left groaning. The director has lamented the poor quality of the special effects, saying the studio rushed the film’s post-production schedule. But actually, the effects aren’t bad.
