In the aftermath of his bout with Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) attempts to lead a peaceful life with his new bride, Adrian (Talia Shire). The fame and fortune from the match soon runs scarce and to make ends meet, Rocky agrees to a re-match with Apollo.

After Rocky goes the distance with champ Apollo Creed, both try to put the fight behind them and move on. Rocky settles down with Adrian but can't put his life together outside the ring, while Creed seeks a rematch to restore his reputation. Soon enough, the "Master of Disaster" and the "Italian Stallion" are set on a collision course for a climactic battle that is brutal and unforgettable.

The story continues...Rocky was a huge hit, but the huge question is "Is it better or worse than it's predecessor?" Rocky II begins where the first left off, Rocky goes to a hospital after his fight with Apollo and Apollo demands a rematch. But Rocky turns his back on boxing to marry Adrian. And then he goes on a shopping spree, buying a car, a coat, and watches... even a house! But it eventually comes to an end and Rocky has to get a job. He tries a commercial actor, a meat-packer, and an office job. But nothing works. Rocky decides to go back to boxing and begins to train, but while doing this Adrian falls into a comma while having their baby, all this distracts Rocky from his training. And I'm not going to give much more away. Rocky II features a re-hash of the first montage that has rocky running up the rocky steps. Only this time, hundreds of kids are chasing him. Slovenčina V zápase o titul majstra sveta v boxe, ktorým sme sa lúčili v predchádzajúcom filme, rozhodcovia ako víťaza určili Apolla, hoci spravodlivejšia by bola remíza. Tesne po zápase sú obaja súperi na ceste do nemocnice, a keďže Apollo sa necíti ako víťaz, v jeho plánoch už má pevné miesto odvetný zápas. Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) má však celkom iné ciele a výzvu na odvetu odmietne. Po prepustení z väznice sa chystá požiadať Adrian o ruku, kúpiť veľký dom a dať si od športového boxu na určitý čas odpočinok. No aj taký zlatý mešec, aký dostáva športovec za účasť v zápase o majstra sveta, má svoje dno. Rocky je na mizine a nezostáva mu nič iné, len prijať Apollovu výzvu a opäť vstúpiť do ringu. Tréning bude tvrdší, dlhší a náročnejší, pretože nasledujúci zápas bude pre Rockyho jeden z najťažších. Iný výsledok, než víťazstvo nad Rockym, si totiž Apollo ani nepripúšťa.
