The producer of Pearl Harbor and the director of Training Day deliver an immensely thrilling adventure epic that tells the heroic true story behind one of history's greatest legends! It is the valiant tale of Arthur (Clive Owen) and his bond of brotherhood with Lancelot (Ioan Gruffudd) and the loyalty of the Knights of the Round Table as they fight for freedom and those they love. Also starring Keira Knightley, this spectacular motion picture fuses historical grandeur with edge-of-your-seat action and bestows must-see entertainment!
Rule Your Fate.. The story of the Arthurian legend, based on the 'Sarmatian hypothesis' which contends that the legend has a historical nucleus in the Sarmatian heavy cavalry troops stationed in Britain, and that the Roman-British military commander, Lucius Artorius Castus is the historical person behind the legend.. I don't know which version of the movie this is on iTunes, but I've seen both the standard edition and the Director's Cut. See the Director's Cut. It has several sub-plots that were wiped out of the release version and which render the release version too simplistic, while the Director's Cut is rich and riveting.
This is a wondrous retelling of the Arthur stories. It is thoughtful, inspiring, surprising. There are scenes in this movie the likes of which I have never experienced—what happens on the ice will take away your breath. It is beautifully filmed: the scenes with snow and smoke especially riveting. Max Zimmer's haunting and beautiful music score is a fitting acompanianment to the story. Congratulations to the actors for their superb performances. Clive Owen transforms into a king in this movie, and he is every inch the Arthur of legend. Congratulations to the writers, producers and directors of this movie: it is a triumph, and a welcome addition to the canon of Arthur, and his Knights of the Round Table.
Is this the PG-13 theatrical version or the Unrated Director's Cut version? It says here that it's "rated R," but an R-rated version of this film DOESN'T EXIST. It'd be safe to assume that this means it's the Unrated Director's Cut; HOWEVER, it says here that the runtime is 2 hours and 5 minutes, which is the exact length of the PG-13 THEATRICAL cut. So... which is it??
Awesome movie! Better than Braveheart!
I think this movie and story telling wanted to be and FEEL epic but it missed something. The cast is great but there is an emotional element or connection lacking in this film in my opinion. While its not a terrible movie, it moves slowly… it feels partially hatched unfortunately.
I enjoy this movie quite a bit, but I think the Director's Cut is much better, so iTunes needs to get the Director's cut of this movie available.
Loved the cast, the witty and funny exchanges between the knights. Glad they didn't show too much blood but Kiera Knightley fighting savages in bandages, that part bothered me.
Although some people believe this is an inaccurate retelling of King Arthur I really enjoyed this movie. Much more than other movies and tv shows!
DO NOT BUY FOR YOUR OWN SAKE PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF
Stopped working halfway through and just stayed frozen...total waste of money
Bahahahaaaaa!!! I couldn't keep a straight face while watching this movie. I don't know about most people but I think they should have kept to the original story. It was better. Alot better.
It was a great story but deviates from the actual story quite a bit. Still, ignoring that fact, I loved it!
The battles were fantastic and it was really well cast anybody who says anything else doesn't know what they're talking about
this movie was horrible! now if you have no affinity for history, history religion, legend etc. you'll probably like it- for eveeryone else who lives and breathes this stuff... back away- ill put it this way- Alexander was more accuartely portrayed, and delivered than this heaping pile!
Interesting story, cute romance between Arthur & Guinevere, poor scenes (too fake), interesting new twist to the King Arthur/Lancelot and all his knights!
Lancelot dies!!! :(
This movie stalled while down loading. This happened twice. I have not run the movie but if it stalls during the playing I will get back to you. Buy the way I would like two movies that I can not find ( The Crow ) and ( The count of Monte Cristo ) Can I get these? Thanks
Do you even know what a cult is. You do not know what christianity was like back then. Lastly the torture chambers were just that one guy torturing people using christianity and religion as a reason to do it. Great movie worth the cost.
The Christianity in this movie is presented as an evil cult, which keeps torture chambers and, in general, looks completely depraved. This grossly misrepresents the historical reality, as if that had been the case, it would have never been adopted by peoples and nations and judged superior to their former beliefs. Other than that, it's a well made movie. So, -3 stars for the intentional misrepresentation and for historical lies, +1 star for music, acting and general quality = 3 stars.
it is a great movie but i wish we could rent it. just renting it would be okay for the 3.99 price. anyway, if your debating about getting this movie, just click on the "buy the movie" button.
i was expecting the uncut version. but it wasn't bit upset. but the movie is great, one of my favs
With twenty-first people dressed up in fifth century costume. But at least it's more thoughtful than most Arthurian renditions.
Its a movie with feeling, romance, forgiveness, trust, war, action, battle for survivials and beauty of the spirit for movies around the world. its got all that is nessesary for a movie that is enjoyable to eveyone who watches it, for at least the first time, but i love watching it every time and is great for all adult and children ages, no chopping heads off, violence is not too heavy but has one sexual theme. This producer has made many wonderful movies and this is one of his best yet...
Awesome movie, great plot compared to a lot of the classic tales of King Arthur. Lots of action, but its also a tale of love, despair and righteousness.
