One of the best war films of all time.As an action movies, it's amazing. As a movie that catologues the nightmare of war, it's amazing. As a movie that demonstrates what a cluster**** that operation was, it's amazing. And as a movie that demonstrates the comradeier of soldiers, it's amazing.
In particular, there's one exchange that stuck with me more than anything else. Towards the end, Seargent Danny is back the base after having gone out into the combat zone twice and spending most of the day out there. His CO tells him that between thier men and the Pakistani 10th Mountain, they have enough men and that Danny doesn't have to go back out there.
And Danny (whose face is covered in grime and blood) just looks at him, as if to say, "yeah, I do."

Ale zdanlivo bezpečne naplánovaná misia sa obráti nesprávnym smerom. Rangers aj veteráni musia bok po boku bojovať proti zdrvujúcej presile a utekať za nepriateľskými líniami kým sa záchrannému konvoju nepodarí vyraziť k ich záchrane. V ťažkom boji umierajú priatelia, formujú sa vzťahy, chlapci sa stávajú mužmi a vojaci sa učia ako vyzerá skutočná tvár vojny a hrdinstvo.
Slovenščina Sestreljeni črni jastreb je junaška pripoved o skupini elitnih ameriških vojakov, ki so jih poslali v Mogadiš v Somalijo leta 1993 v sklopu mirovne operacije. Njihova misija: ujeti dva poročnika somalijskega vojaškega lorda Mohameda Farraha Aidida kot del strategije zajeziti državljansko vojno in ublažiti lakoto, ki je pustošila po državi. Mladi rangerji in veterani Delta Force se z ramo ob rami borijo proti številčno močnejšemu sovražniku. 18 grozljivih ur ostanejo ujeti in obkoljeni v najbolj sovražnem predelu Mogadiša, čakajoč reševalni konvoj, ki naj bi jih prišel iskat. Obkoljeni in zdesetkani so, napetost narašča, prijatelji umirajo, sklepajo se nove zveze, predvsem pa vojaki spoznajo pravo naravo vojne in junaštva.
