A Realistic and Chilling Portrayal of the Zodiac KillingsWhile not Finchers best film (which by no means makes it bad) it is a really good movie. If you are like me and think Se7en was one of the most chilling and well done films ever you'll enjoy this. This movie is slow, but it helps to convey the passing of time involved in the story, which goes on for a very long time. There is really nothing corny about this movie, everything is real, i just looks and feels and sounds right. The murder scenes are also full of that chill that fincher does so well, he manages to make the scenes give you goosebumps without being overly gory or bizarre. It is more tame than Se7en, but its also less thematic. The acting is all very well done, Robert Downey Jr is an especially likeale character who gets himself into trouble all the time..Score: 4/5

Memories of MurderThis is a great classic story of one of the biggest homicide investigations in this countries history. Very dramatic and very well acted and directed. It's long, and very detail-oriented, not your typical serial killer film. Not an action movie. Also if you like this, check out Memories of Murder, a great true crime Korean serial killer film that came out before this and no doubt inspired it..Score: 5/5
This is a movie with an incubation periodI was not as taken with the first time I saw this in theaters. It truly scared me around the second or third viewing when you have let your guard down. What was most frightening to me was the obsession that over took Jake Gyllenhaal character. Letting go with both hands, in the pursuit "of looking him in the eye." Fincher looks at the case of this prolific, almost enigmatic serial killer, who took the lives of his victims, and in essence took the lives of those who pursued him. Fincher's real focus on the second, and paints the most accurate and down right scary picture of how man can be consumed by obsession..Score: 5/5
Very good, but terribly long...My fiancée and I saw this in theaters when it came out last year, and enjoyed it very much. It was pretty terrifying, and pretty accurate as to the Zodiac's tale. However, we both found the movie far too long - towards the end, it just seemed as though they were dragging the movie out as long as they possibly could..Score: 4/5

One of the best of 2007This is on my top five movies list for 2007 with "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford", "Juno", "No Country for Old Men", and "There will be blood". This movie is NOT TOO LONG; some people just prefer an *easier* movie going experience. Too bad it wasn't available for rent so you could see for yourself without the commitment of buying right away, but if you decide to buy I think it is definatley worth it. Seriously? Seriously!?!??Okay, I didn't go into this movie expecting explosions or car chases, I expect a good thriller that would intrigue me. Instead i got a 2 and a half hour piece of Garbage. I don't car what the actual case went like, you can have a movie peak in excitement 1 hour in and the fizzle out from there. The best true crime movie everI do not know what is wrong with the people who have previously reviewed this film perhaps because it does not have huge explosions or no plot line.unlike them i thought this movie was exceptional well put together and thought out and i enjoy long movies i dunno what the problem with that is. robert downey jr is the best part of the movie as paul avery but all in all the whole cast is excellent and david fincher did an excellent job as well..Score: 5/5

5 stars, nothing lessThis movie takes it's time. Unlike other films of this genre it tells you in detail the facts so you can solve the mystery alongside the leading characters. Since this film takes place over a period of 20 years you actually see cities built up around the plot line's melodic tempo. The murders are authentic and seem very natural unlike most horror films. The casting is perfect for this feature and you may not like the decline of characters over time but it's a true story and you can't escape truth no matter how much you don't like it. Each scene represents an important date to the film's plot line and each scene is it's own clue to the murderer. Soundtrack is amazing, sampling from Marvin Gaye to Santana. Obviously don't rent this if you can't watch a film that's over 2 hours. Disregard all past negative reviews because these people don't understand true film. This is as (grusome) said "The best true crime story ever.".Score: 5/5
