When down-on-his luck musician Dave Seville (Jason Lee) discovers singing trio Alvin and the Chipmunks, he seizes the opportunity to put together his songwriting skills with the ‘Munks unique talents. Their first collaboration, “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)” becomes an overnight sensation, propelling the Chipmunks to superstardom. But when Dave’s friend, greedy record executive Ian, gets a hold of the lovable rodent pals, will they fall into Ian’s corrupt landscape of global contemporary pop music or find their way back to Dave?

A great family movie for allMy wife thought I was crazy when I wanted to see this in the theatres. But after renting it, I knew I should have gone to the big screen.
This movie offers tons of great laughs and smiles for children of all ages, as well as any adult that grew up with the original cartoon, or the remake in the early 80's. The re-make of two of their "biggest Hits", Witch Doctor and their Xmas song, were fantabulous in my opinion.
And, to all the nay sayers out there complaining about the pricing - Don't yell at Apple - Yell to your governent and the CRTC. They make the pricing. Same reason that neither Bell Canada nor Rogers can drop their prices much below the other.

Przypadkiem dostają się oni do domu początkującego muzyka Dave'a, całkowicie odmieniając jego dotychczasowe życie. Wiewiórki stają się gwiazdami muzyki rock, a Dave jako ich menadżer dba o zdrowie swoich podopiecznych. Hrvatski Na početku priče upoznajemo tri sjevernoameričke vjeverice, Alvina, Simona i Theodorea, koji promatraju kako njihov dom siječe Tvrtka za božićna drvca. Dečki su još unutra kad je drvo poslano u predvorje prestižne tvrtke Jett Records, koju predvodi lukavi i prepredeni šef po imenu Ian Hawk , u središtu Los Angelesa. Ian je bivši cimer s faksa Davea Sevillea, glazbenika i tekstopisca kojeg je napustila sreća, ali koji se nikad nije prestao nadati da će ostvariti uspješnu karijeru svojim neobičnim glazbenim senzibilitetima. Kad Dave ode u Jett Records kako bi prezentirao Ianu novu pjesmu, nepristojno ga izbacuju iz ureda. Uzimjaući košaru kolačića za utjehu, prolazi pokraj božićnog drvca koje postavljaju u predvorju.
