Visually breathtakingHello people! The movie is set in modern times! It's not supposed to be like the 1968 version! Great music score and Leo is fantastic. Claire is endearing. John Leguizamo was an awesome Tybalt. Not to mention the guy who played Mercutio....he was the best! I saw this movie for the first time when I was 9 years old (when it came out) and I was instantly in love. I thought it was the most unique movie of it's time. Classically modernWe watched this in english class at school and it followed the play to a T almost. There were some parts that were so corny I laughed forever, but other parts were done really well. Simply Amazing!I know that you are not meant to change Shakespeare but I have to say that I Loved this movie! The best thing was that they kept the Shakespearian lingo and maintained the poetic beauty I will say that yes they did omit some lines of prose but I found that all the same the imagery was stunning the acting amazing and the true bitter sweetness retained.
