Chaos Theory is a heartwarming comedy about family, friends, and finding order in a world of complete disorder. Frank Allen (Ryan Reynolds) is a man known for playing it safe. Every choice he makes is deliberate––designed to contribute to a well-ordered, predictable life. But life, as he learns, does not always adhere to a schedule. Frank’s regimented existence begins to unravel when a stunning family revelation forces him to re-examine the concept of fate. Shaken to his core, Frank throws caution to the wind and decides to break all the rules and conventions that have defined him. Frank is about to discover that not even an efficiency expert armed with timetables and index cards can change the serendipitous nature of family and friendship, love and forgiveness.

The Critics are morons!I was shocked to read what the critics wrote about this movie here on iTunes. Did they even watch this movie? Perhaps these professional critics just want to see Mr. Reynolds play shallow roles for the rest of his life. As a big fan of Ryan's comedies I was really surprised by how moved I was by his dramatic performance in this movie. I wouldn't call this move predictable at all. Lots of potential.This could have been a fun romantic comedy that was for everyone. And, sure, Chaos Theory had several good moments, and Ryan Reynolds did a solid job depicting the over organized hero who's life is thrown astray by being late at a meeting, which kicks off a series of events that truly leads to a life-changing event. Unfortunately, the supporting cast had painfully simplistic characters - Buddy being the worst offender. The flash forward in the beginning and end of the movie was unnecessary. If they stuck to the index card carrying main characters mania, this could have been an excellent movie. The final result ranged from okay to pretty funny to frustrating..Score: 2/5

Started really strong by finished weak!Worth seeing, if just to see Sarah Chalke in lingerie, but I was really struck by how the first hour flew by and was really enjoyable, where the last 1/2 hour seemed to lose focus.
