Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) must launch a rescue mission when they get a tip that Commodore Schmidlapp (Reginald Denny) is in danger aboard his yacht. But the tip is a set-up by four of the most powerful villains ever, who seek to defeat the dynamic duo once and for all! Armed with a dehydrator that can turn humans into dust, the fearsome foursome intends to take over the world! Can the Caped Crusaders use their high-flying heroism and groovy gadgetry to declaw Catwoman (Lee Meriwether), ice the Penguin (Burgess Meredith), upstage the Joker (Cesar Romero), and stump the Riddler (Frank Gorshin) in time?

In his second year of fighting crime, Batman uncovers corruption in Gotham City that connects to his own family while facing a serial killer known as the Riddler.

Read before buying.This is a classic awesome film, it's goofy and silly instead of dark. If you can't see how awesome this movie is, you must see a doctor. Regardless of what Hollywood nowadays thinks...This is the closest thing you will get to the old-school Batman comics. Everything about it is pretty much exactly taken from the classic Batman panels. The action by todays standards is yeah, pretty terrible and the dialog, by today's standards is...yeah, pretty terrible. But that is what makes this movie so much fun to watch, the fact that it does not try to take itself so seriously as an adaptation, and that again is what makes it so successful and true. Watch it, don't watch it. It doesn't bother me, but if you want to see what Batman started out as, and truly was in the 60's instead of a gutteral-voiced monster, watch it. Have a slightly open mind for crying out loud!!!Before you bash this movie because of the non-realism and because of Batman having Robin as a side kick, I want you to think about this quote for a minute. "Because of their simplicity, superheroes are easy prey for revisionists. In 1954, Dr. Frederic Wertham saw in Batman and Robin's relationship a coded metaphor for homosexuality. First, let's remember that superhero comics were invented for children- boys, really. Wertham made the fundamental mistake of examining these comics with an adult sensibility and without humor. Here's how I see it: When Bruce Wayne was a kid, his pampered, idyllic life was shattered to pieces. Since then, he's been trying to put it back together. It makes perfect sense that his best friend would be twelve years old, because Batman is still a little boy stuck in a man's body. If there's a "no girls allowed" sign on thier batcave/clubhouse, it's because girls are icky. That's why Catwoman is dangerous- she represents a maturity the boys aren't ready for. (The TV show got a lot of mileage from this dynamic). Superheroes live best in their own world- a preadolescent world. Holy Polaris, Batman!!My best friend and I have recently become obsessive Batfans, and begrudgingly rented this movie when we couldn't find Under the Red Hood at the movie store. BatmanOk, it's supposed to be campy. But I thought it was alright. However, did some things strike anyone as ridiculous? The shark exploding, several of the bat gadgets, and the strange riddles given to us by the Riddler. Adam West was pretty much the classic Batman.
