The firstThe movie that started it all! riddick in the begining when he is the only hope (ironically he was being trasported as a convict) to getting everyone off of a planet inhabited by nocturnal flesheating cannibalistic non-seeing monsters. great movie. watch this before you see the other 2.Peter.h.knScore: 5/5
I find it worth buying it, even if seen it quite few timesSomething with this movie works out really well for my part. Would say that I'm pretty picky with movies I like, and specially if it comes to buying them...
but I remember seeing this movie first time, and being impressed by it indeed! Could be because it's not quite something I had seen before. Felt fresh.
It seems some people find it to be a "b-movie", but I see it to be more matter of taste.
Most likely, either you gonna love it or hate it (if you're not able to follow it or just don't get it.;))
I'm not much into the typical action movies... I simply find them boring. And I did not know anything about Vin Diesel before I saw "Pitch Black".
But this movie works excellent for me.
And Vin Diesel does good job in it!
Maybe not The greatest sci-fi movie, but it's one I actually buy... and I don't buy movies I wouldn't want to keep for long time.

Thoroughly ImpressedI was flipping through some channels recently, looking for something decent to watch. Pitch Black caught my eye and raised my hopes. Seeing that it was on Sci-Fi crushed them a little. Seeing that Vin Diesel was in it raised my hope again and encouraged me to watch. I walked away from this movie thoroughly terrified and pleased. The acting is superb, the special effects are top notch, the story is a little more original than most but not very. All in all, its worth your time..Sam ShaderScore: 5/5

A faveI am giving this a 5 because it is a movie, like all of the Riddick series, that I go back to again and again when I need a lift, or to relax, or be comforted. I will leave the high-brow stuff to the experts, but like Hell Boy, Men in Black, Star Wars, Hannah, and Lord of the Rings, these movies are for me as loyal and effective as a labrador in cheering you up.
