Did not meet expectationsI've read and liked the book, as well as watch the 2007 version. I've heard and read that this adaptation of Persuasion is the best so I bought it. Now i wished iTunes has the option to rent this movie so I didn't have to spend $10 for something I really didnt much enjoy and wouldn't be this annoyed. It's not a bad movie, but nothing extraordinary. like all other jane austen movies, I was expecting to fall in love. I'd say the recent adaptation is better, esp the casting. I don't understand why they couldn't cast better looking actors. and why are they so old? Anne is 27 years old not 40ish..Score: 3/5

Beautiful and unforgettable movie!You will find this movie to be as good as it gets, in terms of quality entertainment. The acting is superb from all of the cast and I have enjoyed it each time I have watched it a little more. My oldest daughter wants to own this movie and I will be sure she does! As a 42 year old man, I found Amanda Root's portrayal of Anne to be the most mezmerizing, unforgettable performance I have ever seen from a female actress in a movie. I find myself thinking about scenes of this movie again and again. What an absolutely lovely woman! As Anne's fortunes change for her, she becomes more and more beautiful and portrays a woman that no man could forget. Very well done! The only thing that would have made this movie better would have been for it to be much longer..Score: 5/5

From a die-hard Austen fan...Love, love, LOVED it!!! Persuasion is my favorite Jane Austen novel, and I really wanted to find a movie that would do it justice. I watched the 2005 version and was sorely disappointed. THIS is what I was looking for! It's romantic, the acting is quite good, and all in all, it was very well done. :).Score: 5/5
