Academy Award-nominee Gary Busey ("Under Siege," "The Firm") stars in a story of three young surfers searching for meaning as their lives change in the '60s and '70s. This largely autobiographical film from director John Milius ("Conan The Barbarian") features truly spectacular surfing scenes. Also starring Jan-Michael Vincent ("The Winds of War"), real- life mother and son Barbara Hale ("Perry Mason") and William Katt ("The Greatest American Hero") and Patti D'Arbanville ("Miami Vice").
Three 1960s California surfers fool around, drift apart and reunite years later to ride epic waves.

Big WednesdayI remember watching this movie on HBO when I was about 13 years old. I enjoyed the surfing scenes and the scenery of California. Fast forward 36 years later and the film takes on a whole new meaning. I enjoyed the film when I was younger but its message and meaning certainly have more impact after the passage of time. A very good film with some fun moments and tragic and sad moments which really mirrors life. Definitely timeless in its message and very worth watching at any age..Score: 5/5
Sort of autobiographicalA candid shot of the 60’s and captures the feeling of the times great surf shots mingled with era snapshots, a great little movie, with 3 very unlikely friends that surfing brings together and the changes only time brings, still a great flic after all these years! RIP Jan Michael Vincent. Ran into him in the mid 80s at the county line bar one night, he had an ounce of coke in his surplus flight jackets with 3 straws out of his inside pocket, an empty bar on a Tuesday night, he never really beat the drug abuse. Gary too was always a firecracker and easily angered ran into him too, he stole my parking spot and gave me a deadly look..their personalities are all there in the film..Score: 5/5
