Wow, what a movie...I do believe this is in my top 5 of all time. Extremely powerful performance from DW - excellent twist I didn't see coming and more gritty and enjoyable than other "revenge" movies makes it a joy to watch. How in the world didn't the critics see it for what it was? Seems like they are woefully out of touch based on the public response, but honestly they usually are...

People disregard Rotten Tomatoes on this one. The movie has everything. Great story, amazing acting and directing with plenty of action throughout. 5 stars for me.

Don't get the hate. Reviews are outta this world bad. Just don't get it. Movie is a classic. Guess thats why different folks have different strokes. Excellent movie for those willing to take the chance. Apparently you'll either really love or hate this one.

This movie isn't just about action - like so many are today. It's about restoration and finding that hope isn't lost, and then giving that hope to someone else. It's an evocative story, and if you go into it just looking for action (et tu, Rotten Tomato?) you will be disappointed. Not to mention the cinematography, which is exceptional without using the ridiculous "shaky camera" trend.

If I wanted to read Shakespeare I would go to the library. I am not looking for deep meaning,character definition, ambiguity, hyperbole, diction, Imagery etc... This movie grabs you just as well as any well written book can such that you do not want to put it down! Very, very entertaining!!

Its so crazy how these rotten tomato writers are called pros! They gave this movie a 33%? Its an amazing movie and two amazing performances by Denzel and Dakota.

What's not to like about Denzel Washington? A strong performance as always. It would have been easy for the violence of this movie to turn it in to something really ugly. This, in my opinion was saved by Mr. Washington's cool performance and demeanor. Thought there were some interesting twists to the plot and all in all it held my interest well. Strong supporting acting as well particularly by Christopher Walken and Dakota Fanning. I liked it.
