Feel The Love. An uptight, conservative, businesswoman accompanies her boyfriend to his eccentric and outgoing family's annual Christmas celebration and finds that she's a fish out of water in their free-spirited way of life.. The Family Stone Wiki
Wow. My favorite holiday movie. It’s real, amazingly awkward and self-assuring. This is a movie I can watch multiple times. From beginning to end, it’s hard not to find the Stone family lovable and irritating. As the movie unfolds, it’s hard to turn away. Bravo to this all star cast. SJP is raw and you can help but root for her. A+!
This wasn’t what I thought it would be. It’s not a flowing script. I personally didn’t think it was that good especially after reading other reviews. 👎
I was surprised to thoroughly enjoy this movie! Perfect holiday movie if you want to laugh and cry. Excellent words of wisdom, too: "You've got a freak flag; you just don't fly it."
We wish they'd make more like this one. Writing is tight. Very original. Great cast. We watch this one every year! Highly recommend!!!
1st, there are enough scenes and lines to make it worthwhile even if you don't appreciate the film as a whole. 2nd, if you think you'll like it, you almost certainly will. I thought it was quite enjoyable the 1st time. McAdams & Danes are beautiful. Wilson is always witty & Keaton always delivers. But the more I see it, I realize what I originally thought were flaws weren't really detrimental to the film at all, or at least less so. For me, this usually happens the other way around. It's not perfect but it's closer to 5 stars than 4. I think it's safe to assume the haters of this movie probably expected to see a straight up comedy or aren't generally a fan of the dramadies genre. Yes, it's got some sentimental sap, but it's far from forced or over the top, and it enhances the film a lot (unless you aren't a fan of a bit of sappiness to begin with). I've never been a SJP fan but she actually becomes likable, and her transformation is clever and well done. How can you not lighten up being around a character played by Wilson? Casting her in this role is spot on, and the casting in general is right on the money. The scene where she gives Keaton her Christmas gift is priceless. (This comes from someone whose favorite movies are The Godfather, Gladiator & Animal House). I've never taken the time to write a review before but I felt the need to speak up about this film and defend it. I hope the few who actually read this find it helpful.
I love this movie so so much
Tomatoes we invariably look at first. Will we ever learn?
I love watchin this movie during the holidays.
This movie is a very nice comedy/drama about finding personal identity within a family unit. Well done, well acted, nice pace. Probably not perfect, but there are many moments when you lose yourself in the story.
This movie was horrendously bad - not sure how some of these actors signed up for this movie after reading the script. The plot picks up new story lines and drops off old ones like it was a habit. The plot ‘twists’ made NO sense, but were somehow supposed to be easily accepted by the audience. SAVE YOUR TIME
This is a movie that is funny, sad, interesting and all round relatable to. Every family has their own versions of dysfunction and the Stone’s don’t disappoint.
If you're hesitating to watch this movie, don't. Watch it, it's so good. The characters are perfectly chosen. Perfect for the holdiays!
This movie is by far my favorite Christmas movie ever, I have watched it around Christmas time every year since it came out and never seem to feel disappointed. It has everything you could have asked for and then some, give it a chance if you haven't seen it.
Great. Really Great. You know...sometimes family really *does* know you best and sees things you simply dont see yourself. A great exploration of family ties. A must see. Oh and has some funny scenes too.
I thought this movie was really great, and by that I mean I purchased it and have already watched it 4 times so well worth the 9,99$. As always Rachel McAdams is charming and manages to keep you smiling throughout the movie, Luke Wilson helps give this movie a lighter tone and Sarah Jessica Parker delivers a solid performance. Good family movie, really wish there were more movies like this out there.
The Family Stone was a pretty good movie. It wasn't the best film I've ever seen but it had some memorable moments and held my interest. I liked the quirky family members with their distinctive characters and it was interesting to see how they reacted when the oldest son brought home his uptight new girlfriend for them to meet. Funny, sentimental and kind of sad too.
This is a pretty good movie. Not like an independant movie, but it's sweet and funny. The actors are good, the story is original and Rachel Mcadams is amazing. Maybe not a movie to buy but to rent ! Enjoy !
This movie is a good comedy drama and is worth watching if you like sentimental comedies. Not the best for me but worth watching if you have a night in.
