Triumphant over his greatest challenge with Russian boxer/killer Drago, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is about to face an even bigger challenge-himself! Back home from Russia, people begin to note a slurring of his diction...which worsens. And they begin to notice that the things Rocky says are "dumber." Rocky suffered brain damage from his bout with the murderous Drago. To make matters even worse, Rocky is left broke by mismanagement of his fortune. Despite his desire to get into the ring, Rocky must retire and find a means of supporting his wife, Adrian (Talia Shire), and their son, Rocky Jr. (Sage Stallone). Economics force the family back to the seedy Philadelphia neighborhood they thought they had left forever. But Rocky has new hope for a promising young boxer-Tommy Gunn (Tommy Morrison).

Not the "worst film of all time" as often labledWhile it is definately the worst of the Rocky films, it is hardly the gargantuan disappointment that some make it out to be. It is interesting to see Rocky try his hand at filling Mickey's shoes, and the return to Philidelphia brings back some of the heartwarming charm of the first two films.
After the release of Rocky Balboa (6), the film actually seems a bit better. Not in the sense that the latter is worse in comparison (Balboa is great), but in that viewers know that the story doesn't actually end where V leaves them. You know that the character will have another chance to show what he's made of. All and all, the film's alright. It's a shame that even Sly himself can't seem to look back on this film with any satisfaction..LanooskiScore: 3/5

Un organizator de meciuri dubios il ademeneste pe Rocky cu o oferta foarte profitabila pentu a se intoarce in ring, dar sotia sportivului se impotriveste cu inversunare pentru a-i cruta sanatatea. Intre timp, un tanar boxer care-l idolatrizeaza pe Rocky il roaga sa-i fie antrenor. Boxerul accepta, ceea ce provoaca tensiuni in relatia cu fiul lui. Astfel incepe cea mai importanta lupta din viata lui Rocky: cea pentru familia si demnitatea lui.
