Darby O'Gill (Albert Sharpe) is a man with the Irish gift of gab who finds himself face-to-face with the magical little people, the leprechauns, in a Disney classic. Unexpectedly, one of the old storyteller's tall tales comes true when he captures the King of the Leprechauns, who must grant him three wishes. Unfortunately, all the wishes backfire in amusing, and sometimes frightening, ways.
A wily old codger matches wits with the King of the Leprechauns and helps play matchmaker for his daughter and the strapping lad who has replaced him as caretaker.

Why are some of the voices dubbed over?Great movie. one of our favorites, especially on st. patricks day. kind of irritated that some of the voices were dubbed over. we have a copy on vhs but were unable to watch it so we got the itunes and had to put up with the dubs. o well. still fun to watch..Score: 5/5

Darby OI am almost 60 and I still look for this movie every year! It is my all time favorite. I remember as a child it would come on TV every year or so and I could not wait until St. Patrick's Day just to get to watch it. I have not seen it in many years (college I think), even though I continued to look for it every year. I am absolutely thrilled to see it available. I too would love to own but just the opportunity to see it again after so many years will be AMAZING! It is a treasured memory of my childhood. What the...?I'm a long time fan of Darby O'Gill and the Little People. I first watched it when I was a little girl and the Banshee always scared the s*** out of me. But I can't get passed the dubbing over of some of the Irish actors--notably King Brian. I watched the original version so many times, I know when I'm listening to a dubbed version. So I'm glad I just rented it and didn't buy it. It was nice to watch again, but I'm going to be looking for the original undubbed version to buy. It was good, but it could have been great..Score: 4/5
