When the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham murders Robin's father, the legendary archer vows vengeance. To accomplish his mission, Robin joins forces with a band of exiled villagers (and comely Maid Marian), and together they battle to end the evil sheriff's reign of terror.

The summer of 1991...This movie hit the theaters. McDonald's had the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves toys that of course you had to go back to get every one. Bryan Adams had a number one hit song from the movie (Everything I do) I do it for you. MTV was running the music video every hour (when people actually watched MTV for the music) and my aunt's were totally in love with Kevin Costner. Probably the best version of Robin Hood on film and a star-studded cast. If you like this movie you should also check out Willow which came out in 1988..I LUV Score: 5/5

Great MovieThis movie rivals many other similar movies with just it's brilliant simplicity. Many great actors made appearances here. Though there are a few historical inaccuracies, one can be rest assured this movie definitely makes up for it in its beautiful sword fights as well as in many other aspects of the film as a whole. This movie definitely sweeps me off my feet everytime with it's action, romance, and attempts at comedy. Not everyday, does one remember a movie by one of it's songs. I love this movie. Robin Hood; and a side noteThis was a great movie, for having redoing the story in a newer era of film-making. Sorry 1938 version, but you got kinda old. I haven't seen the newer version with Russell Crowe, but I am expecting that to be more like Gladiator than Robin Hood.....Also, to catzGNA, Keanu Reeves was not in Interview with the Vampire. With a cast like that, how can you missAnd yet they did, miss that is. I think they all tried but perhaps it was the script, I honestly don't know where it wrong. Upon seeing Robin Hood Men In Tights, you realize that Mel Brooks didn't really mock the original. Mel Brooks made a comedy and it was funny, Kevin Costner made a drama, and it was funny. I had high hopes for this movie, and I couldn't sit through it. However, I still have a high respect for all the actors, and would love to watch most of their other movies. Thank you Apple for finally getting RH:POT!!!I love this movie! I don't care if Costner didn't even attempt an English accent. I don't care that neither the spyglass nor the word "twit" had yet been invented during the Crusades (a fact that critics were harping about during the original release). Alan Rickman is the ultimate Sheriff, and Sean Connery makes an awesome Richard the Lionheart. Swordfights, archery contests, quarterstaff duels, a crazy witch, deranged indigenous Celts, and even some high explosives...what a movie! 'Nuff said..(dj)2Score: 5/5
