Great filmIt is a surprisingly loyal book to film adaptation but since in the movie you dont get to hear much of his inner monolog I dont see how it would make much sense to those who havent already read the book.Score: 4/5

Stirings of TrumpPeople are always saying the leftists are the ones who enslave us - this movie is agnostic in that respect. SpeechlessAn utterly, jaw-droppingly amazing film. Emotionally, intelectually as true to the book as I could have ever imagined. That this movie is not required viewing is a travesty. Normally, I abhor emotionally-wrought dramas (beyond their aesthetic appeal) for what they can teach us about life, but this film is different. This is totalitarianism, and should make leftists absolutely shutter. It is a timely reminder of the dangers of big government..Score: 5/5
Good production design...There is quite an aesthetic to this, and it feels haunted like Brazil or The Wall can. I even like the fonts. Explain the last 5 minutes to me, though....Score: 4/5
A dystopian classic but lose the EurythmicsExcellent adaptation but someone please change the preview- that horrible Eurythmics song completely spoils the mood. Thank God they kept it out of the film for the most part (I believe there was some sort of legal fight if I recall)..Score: 5/5
Missing Soundtrack!!!!!!!!!Sure, the movie is great. Depressing, pessimistic, dark, true to the book.... but does anyone else remember the (short lived and vanished) soundtrack by The Eurythmics? It was not really suited to the film, sure, but it had a few killers on it... most notably "Julia". It resulted in a different version being released stateside (I think) with a very edited soundtrack. Does anyone know where I can find it? Even just that track?!!!! Come on, Itunes!!!!!.Score: 4/5

1984: The film1984 the film is true to Orwell's novel by the same name. I recommend the book be read before OR after after viewing the movie. Although it portrays a black and hopeless world, a world without individuality, a world without pleasure in which orgasm is to be eliminated, Orwell is instructive especially on the nature of Power. The acting by John Hurt, Richard Burton and Suzanna Hamilton is uniformly superb. This British drama at its best..Score: 5/5
Great Robert Burton acting. Fair film.Robert Burton played a wonderful role of O'Brien in this film and it is one of my favourites from him. Only reason why I give the film a 3 star rating is because the film does not coincide with the book in regards to how the book is played out most of the time and the film leaves many things to the audience to their imagination whereas in the book it is more thorough. My suggestion is to read the book first and then watch the film. The book is a classic and you won't be disappointed..Score: 3/5

AS EXPECTEDThe issue here is the accuracy with which the film makers and actors stayed parallel to the intent of the book. It presented a scary, dull, unpassionate and dark life, as was intended in the literature. So, very well done. The spirit of the book is clearly here. My ReviewDifferent for a film because it assumes you have some knowledge of the story. As far as movies made out of classic books, there are no complaints. The plot stays true and visually it is the grubby world of Orwell's book. One thing the movie could portray better was the shattering of Winston's mind in Room 101, his dissociation and how he comes to love Big Brother. An excellent movie..Score: 4/5
