Lacks pacing and intensityA familiar scenario, an honourable man imprisoned, offered a way out via a "special unit," and then setup as the patsy. We’ve SceneKit a hundred times, but rarely as poorly done as in this film. The director is known for his low to mid budget efforts, and this seem on the lower end. There are a number of unintentionally humous scenes - if you rent it, the mob chase scene is worth waiting for, but afterward you might as well put it away. The film is predictable, lacks emotional energy, and the acting is generally poor, in spite of the presence of a half dozen or so "old hands" from Law & Order. Speaking of Law & Order, Jill Hennessy, one of the finest ADA's to ever assist Jack McCoy in that series, practical phones in her performance here. Too bad, she's ussually a fine actor. The other principle, Keenan Ivory Wayans just doesn't have the chops to be an action hero. Though he comes across buff, his emotional impact is either soft or absent. Even in moments where he is "righteously angry," he come across almost ready to apologise for his outburst. All in all, a sad excuse for an action thriller..PanegyristScore: 2/5
