Arnold Schwarzenegger returns with a vengeance in the sword and sorcery adventure Conan the Destroyer. The powerful hero Conan (Schwarzenegger) has been commissioned by evil Queen Taramis (Sarah Douglas) to safely escort a teen princess (Olivia D’Abo) and her bodyguard (Wilt Chamberlain) to the magic Horn of Dagon. Conan soon discovers, however, that the queen plans to sacrifice the princess when she returns and inherit her kingdom. Now he and an unusual group of allies—including the eccentric wizard Akiro (Mako) and the wild woman Zula (Grace Jones)—must defeat both mortal and supernatural foes in an epic, sword-wielding battle with the fate of the entire world at stake.
Conan the Destroyer Film Synopsis
Conan is commissioned by the evil queen Taramis to safely escort a teen princess and her powerful bodyguard to a far away castle to retrieve the magic Horn of Dagoth. Unknown to Conan, the queen plans to sacrifice the princess when she returns and inherit her kingdom after the bodyguard kills Conan. The queen's plans fail to take into consideration Conan's strength and cunning and the abilities of his sidekicks: the eccentric wizard Akiro, the warrior woman Zula, and the inept Malak. Together the hero and his allies must defeat both mortal and supernatural foes in this voyage to sword-and-sorcery land.

Not Quite the First, but Still AwesomeFirst thing is first- this film compared to the original is no contest. Conan the Barbarian is much more of a film than Conan the Destroyer. Nevertheless, this sequel has more than its fair share of greatness. My personal favorite moments are the drunken sword teaching and the knife throw along with the quote, "Enough talk!"
There's a bit of a comedic undertone and overall cheese factor that hampers the movie in comparison to the original, but it's one of those things that make this sequel its own delightful beast. It's the more family friendly Conan, but bear in mind, even that Conan is still a total champ.
If for no other reason, watch the movie for this moment:

Conan 2 is good for light entertainment. Worth a rental.This is obviously less impressive than Arnold's first adventure as Conan. It's hard to say exactly why. I don't object so much to making Conan more kid friendly. Perhaps it's that Grace Jones is a poor substitute for Sandahl Bergman. As Valaria, she made Conan seem more normal, were as Jones accentuates how weird she and Conan both look. Plus Conan has some other less than great companions on this adventure. It's okay to rent as light entertainment...if you're in the mood or just curious about the Conan sequel. But the first one is best..William-BScore: 3/5

From Conquerer to ClicheThe original director had nothing to do with this film. And instead of continuing on with the themes presented in the first time, they decided to bring Conan into the realm of family entertainment.
Fans of the original Conan Film(or the original stories) know that Conan has no place in the Family Entertainment category. He's a barbaric, man-slaughtering murderer who loves revenge and prays to a dark warrior god. Why is he travelling around with a bumbling thief and a teenage princess? If this film were written by Robert Howard, Conan would have killed or abandoned the thief and either used or got rid of the princess.

So begibt sich Conan mit seinen Begleitern, dem Dieb Malak, dem Zauberer Akiro, der Kriegerin Zula und der Prinzessin Jehnna sowie deren Leibwächter Bombaata auf den Weg zu Toth-Amons Eispalast, der aus der Mitte eines Sees aufragt.
