Really well done for only a 15k budgetThis is the type of movie that will scare you. They only had a $15,000 budget. Don’t expect a high end movie. This feels like something that can truly happen to anyone. I have since kept watching the series. But in all honestly after the 3rd movie. The series started to fall apart. They should reboot the series just how the movies 1-3 were. No intense CGI.Score: 5/5
A Well Done StoryAs this may not be the scariest movie out there, it has a story to it. If you read the background story ( just on google ) it gives the movie an extra push. Boring, poor writing, spotty acting, not scaryParanormal Activity is a movie in the tradition of Cloverfield and the Blair Witch Project. Prepare to see an hour and a half of the world's most boring webcam videos, with the occasional thump or bump. There IS one good scene toward the end of the movie, but by and large, it feels like watching someone's summer vacation movies... except they forgot to go on their summer vacation, so all you see is the inside of their very standard house. With the exception of that one scene, which is kind of scary, the movie is NOT scary at all. This reviewer is terrified of most horror standards (such as the recent Drag me to Hell), and was able to yawn his way through Paranormal Activity. The movie IS on occasion startling, in a cheap way: one or thrice it throws loud noises your way with no visual cue. That's it for the scares, though. The paranormal entity is perhaps the world's most under-achieving villain, coming across as a confused invisible caveman with an unfortunate foot condition. I'd say more, but want to avoid spoilers. Characters often act in unrealistic ways. Occasionally this is forced by the need to have the camera present in a scene where it makes no sense. At other times, it's just lazy writing. This movie is a snorefest. Avoid, unless you need a good night's sleep..Score: 1/5
I enjoyed the movie, but when i tried to purchace it through itunes it did not turn out good at all.So if there is anywhere i can go to get a reimbursement for the copy of Paranormal activity..i would greatly appreciate it..i bought another movie at the same time and that one turned out great...Score: 4/5
