Absolutely PassableLet me start off by saying, I LOOOATHE the "documentary" style horror movies that stemmed from The Blair Witch Project, and think they're dumbing down the film industry... I have been on a Paranormal Activity strike since its release, in 2007, and ONLY watched this flick now because there were no other scary movies On Demand that I hadn't seen.
That said, I was pleasantly surprised. It's definitely slow, but managed to keep me on the edge of my seat--NOT because I was jumping every 5 minutes (as previews and reviews would have you believe), but because I "knew" there had to be some sort of major climax at the end that would have spawned the successful 2nd, 3rd and now 4th, sequels... I wasn't disappointed.
The last 2 minutes left my skin crawling, otherwise I felt it was about an hour and 10 minutes too long.
I will say, at least, that I didn't walk away from this movie with motion sickness, the way I did after The Blair Witch Project... And I plan on watching the Paranormal Activity 2, soon..RachelKatzScore: 3/5

Simply AwfulI saw this in the theater and was tempted to walk out after ten minutes. Everything seems too forced to make the "real" footage believable. Terrible dialog, bad acting, wrapped up in a clunky plot full of holes. There were maybe two good spooks at best. Too much hype behind a film with no substance, much like the Blair Witch Project. Wouldn't buy it, wouldn't recommend renting it. If you really want to see it wait for it to come out on TV, hit the 99 cent bin or watch it online..@ ReviewScore: 1/5
