Worth The Closure, Not Much ElseThis movie is mostly worth it for a chance to revisit the world of the Saints, but limps along in the original's wake. The characters were given no real dialogue to work with, the plot is both fractured and slow, and the replacements of Smecker and Rocco seem intended to be revamped copies of the originals, yet flounder along painfully. This movie tried hard to be flashier and funnier, yet came across as weak and insincere. The ending strongly hints at a Boondock Saints III, and I hope III can make up for II..Score: 2/5

It's a goddamn shame, really.This sequel took everything wonderful that the first movie built and stomped on top of it with manic, clumsy enthusiasm. The Boondock Saints is, by far, one of my favorite movies. The original, while lighthearted much of the time, was given a completely unexpected but tangible gravity by the seriousness with which the brothers regarded their calling. In fact, that the movie was able to make devout Roman Catholic-based vigilantism cool is a statement as to how deftly the concept was executed by all involved. It drew much of its strength from the rapport between the brothers and the off-kilter-and-spot-on counterbalance of Willem Dafoe, with creatively conceived brutality that served the purpose of bringing them together and uniting them to continue with their rampage through the underbelly of Boston. Sadly, the follow-up All Saints' Day is inexplicably written as a mean-spirited parody of the first, with the brothers blatantly disrespecting the values that defined them from the first film and the characters around them contorted into unpleasant caricatures. I don't understand why they would take this beloved story and dash it to pieces..Score: 2/5

Stage6 Films and Troy Duffy where did they do wrongI don't know what Troy Duffy was thinking when he wote this I think he wanted to try and copy the first boondock saints. This is where he went wrong if you watch the movie you can tell how hard they tried to make the movie any good, I have to say I am disipointed I thought this would be another "Instant cult classic" but it is missing something, maybe it was deciding to join up with "Stage6 Films" I have seen many movies that "Stage6 Films" produced and I am not inpressed. I would suggest renting this movie before you buy it, maybe even check your local library and check it out for free. I wish I had I would recommend skipping this one..Score: 1/5

Very disappointedIf you read reviews and if you loved the first movie like myself. Then at MOST, rent. Do not buy. This movie BLOWS. The director had something special the first time but listened to too many people or lost his flow afterwards. It's just dumb. I literally turned it off after a detective with a very fake southern accent was introduced. This was about 40 min into the film..Score: 1/5

Don't expect the same from the Saints this time.I'll be the first person to turn people towards the original Boondock Saints - it was a fantastic movie. This one, I'm not too pleased about. The acting was overdone for some charactors, to the point of bad. The overall action and story was decent, but it seemed that when I was getting into it, the acting was taking me out. Boondock saints 2 love it or leave itI watched the first, watched the second and loved only the first. This has more humour and I appreciated that. This is not a award winning, make you think deeply movie it is best decribed by Norman Reedus line "gratuitous violence". Humourous, love the men and enjoyed it. would recommend to see for sure if you loved the first. Love the the first so much more. Hope to see all actors go on to do much more. Take care.Score: 4/5
If you loved the first..If you loved the first you will love the second. Ill admit I went into the movie expecting to be disapointed. The first Boondock Saints is my all time favorite movie and in my mind the second could never live up to the hype my mind had created. I left the theatre pleasently surprised because the sequal beat my expectations in every regard. I can only hope that Troy Duffy and the Boys have it in them to create a third one.
