This movie has the spirit of Carroll!While it may be a bit darker than Carroll's original, this still has that authenticity to it that made me glad that Tim Burton was directing! Now, the acting is decent. Johnny Depp does a fantastic job as always, Helena Bonham Carter plays a menacing Red Queen, and Alan Rickman voices Absolom perfectly! Heck, even the mighty Christopher Lee has a voice cameo! That being said, Mia Wasikowska's acting was OK, however she looked confused throughout most of it, even when Alice was confident. And the writing was a bit all over the place. Still, this movie is worth at least one watch. I recommend it!.JosiahMagnetScore: 4/5

Alice in WonderlandHad it not been based off one of the greatest pieces of Children's Literature ever, I may have not given this movie such a beating. But considering the fact that Tim Burton gave this story such a beating, I feel I'm just returning the favour. The main problems I had with this movie revolve around its inability to stay true to what AIW is all about which is what I hope for in a movie/book adaptation. The story for the movie was so generic, it didn't feel like the upbeat, spunky Alice in Wonderland, I know where there really is no moral or themed lesson to be learned. Although I enjoyed the way the characters were adapted (Cheshire Cat and Mad-Hatter, bravo) and the dreamland-ish environment created, it just wasn't enough to convince me. Good if you're looking for a movie to show the kids, but not if you're looking for a good AIW adaptation..DrainChevScore: 2/5
