Sequels are seldom goodThe first Descent movie was an A- horror flick. The sequel a C-. The story is bogged down by characters that do nothing but irritate, e.g., the Sheriff, and we know they'll be the first to be killed. You can also note that this movie's budget was far less than the original, for the graphics are cheesy. What's worst is that part 2 relies on slasher tactics, as opposed to the original, that tried to use the fear of darkness and enclosed space to terrify the audience. But what I can't stand the most is the flaw in logical. A character in the original movie was obviously killed, if anyone remembers, but reappears here. Come on. Don't insult the audience. Watch the original. The second one is not worth the rental fee..AlwaysposhScore: 2/5
Shock! The Sequel is Actually GoodI watched The Descent on Fearnet for free last year, and was surprised that the movie was actually quite good. And, The Descent, Part 2, really shocked me because it too was good for a sequel. The movie is the attempted rescue of the five women who went cave exploring with one hitch . . . the rescuers have one survivor that is forced to lead the team back into the cave. Good character development that fits with the storyline, and works its way through the entire movie. This movie has some gruesome parts in it but its "not in your face" gruesome. You are fighting along with the team for survival once you find out why the women went missing. I enjoyed watching this movie but I had wished for a much better outcome..KandfotoScore: 4/5
