In "Clash of the Titans," the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds, leading a daring band of warriors, including Draco (Mads Mikkelsen), an experienced soldier who encourages the defiant Perseus to make use of his god-given abilities. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, they will only survive if Perseus can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.
To win the right to marry his love, the beautiful princess Andromeda, and fulfil his destiny, half-God-half-mortal Perseus must complete various tasks including taming Pegasus, capturing Medusa's head and battling the feared Kraken.

The critics are overly criticalThis remake of the 1981 classic is not as bad as many of the critics have made it out to be. And the original is not as good, either. Nostalgia can be blinding sometimes..Score: 3/5
Don't even bother"Clash of the Titans" is a shameful remake of Ray Harryhausen's swashbuckling 1981 original. Not only did the filmmakers ruin the epic story, but they also ruined the character of Perseus. (played by Sam Worthington of 'Avatar' fame) In the original, Perseus was the true image of a hero, but here, he comes off as a despicable jerk. I could care less about the rest of the characters in the film. As for the visual effects and the cinematography as a whole, they don't even hold a candle to Ray Harryhausen's technical wizardry. None of the mythological monsters, like the Kraken or Medusa, have the same distinct look as they did in the original. For example, the Kraken just looks like a giant blob with shark teeth. (The robotic owl Bubo is also in this movie, but only for about 5 seconds.) The look of the film is very gritty, messy and ugly with disgusting shades of grey. In short, stay away from this film and watch the original "Clash of the Titans". It's much more satisfactory..Score: 1/5

For the action lovers.Having seen it in theaters, I can safely say that while the special effects and fight scenes are well worth watching, the plot and characters themselves are bland and without depth.
