Jon, a middle-aged professor is going to get married tomorrow, for the second time, to one of his ex-students half his age. But it's not all roses. Firstly, there's his cranky mother-in-law-to-be who violently opposes the marriage and who demands repayment of Jon's loan before the wedding night. Secondly, his plans to build a golf course on the little island of Flatey where they live aren't going at all to plan. Thirdly his extremely drunk best man is on the loose without any shoes and lastly, the continual presence of his emotional first wife is haunting his every move... When the guests start flocking to the island, Jon starts getting cold feet... After a very long night of drinking and thinking, will Jon be able to make it to the church on time? From IFC Films.

Jónova první žena tragicky zemřela, nyní se pedagog ve středních letech chystá oženit podruhé – se svou někdejší, o něco mladší studentkou. Hladkému průběhu svatby však zabraňuje množství okolností, jež přinášejí nejednu komickou situaci a napomáhají i charakterizaci hrdinů, kteří se v předsvatebních dnech na osamělém ostrově vyrojili. Nikoli slavnostní ceremonie, ale to, co jí předchází, přináší nutkání k sebereflexi i zlomová rozhodnutí. Komedie s tragickými akcenty inspirovaná postavami Čechovovy hry Ivanov využívá rovněž stereotypy „svatebních filmů“. Událost nahlíží z pohledu mužských hrdinů, pouto mezi nimi pomáhá tmelit i samotný film. Kamarádské popichování i partnerské hašteření probouzí spíše smích než obavy, černé ladění humoru však snímek jasně vymezuje jako neselankovitý a neomylně ho zasazuje do oblasti severských kinematografií.

Jon - Professor, mittelalt - steckt mitten in den Vorbereitungen für seine zweite Hochzeit. Seine Frau ist halb so alt wie er und seine ehemalige Studentin. Doch es gibt Widerstand – zum Beispiel in Form seiner verrückten Schwiegermutter in Spe, die mit aller Macht versucht, die Hochzeit zu verhindern und erst einmal die Rückzahlung eines Darlehens von Jon fordert. Auch mit seinem Plan für einen Golfplatz auf der kleinen Insel Flatey kommt er nicht voran. Drittens ist Jons Trauzeuge nicht nur extrem betrunken, sondern verliert in der Nacht zuvor auch noch seine Schuhe. Und vor allem lässt Jons Ex-Frau ihn emotional ebenso wenig los wie seine Befürchtungen zu der anstehenden Hochzeit. Als die Gäste eintrudeln, bekommt Jon kalte Füße. Nach einer langen Nacht des Trinkens und Nachdenkens muß er eine Entscheidung fällen. Schafft er es pünktlich zum Altar?
