DisappointingWhile I did not read the book, I was looking forward to being enlightened by the movie. I found the movie to be slowly paced (the intro for the sumo segment was particularly slow) and not that insightful. My wife and I agreed that the rental price was not worth the insights this movie delivers; learning only a couple of things that we did not already know or could not have deduced. Granted, if you aren't very familiar with concepts of institutional racism, disenfranchised populations, or the challenges facing public education, you might get a lot more from this film..Score: 2/5
BoringI like documentaries (from Discovery Channel to the occasional Michael Moore, Super Size Me, etc), I'm in my late 20's and married and generally successful...but this movie is just plain boring. It is exactly as exciting as reading a book about economics. So, decide how exciting that sounds to you and judge accordingly. Frankly, if that strikes your fancy, I would have to suggest you actually go read a book about economics, instead. Perhaps worse, it was not mentally stimulating. Nothing complex or challenging or controversial was revealed beyond "your real estate agent might not entirely be on your side!" Duh..Score: 1/5

Facile and simplisticStick with the book--this movie isn't worth the time invested in watching it and certainly not the inflated rental fee. Apple should be incentivizing subscribers to test out the viability of pre-releases, not soaking them financially. A next chapter for a new edition of Freakonomics? Clear left of center biasOOOhhhh....(1) Rudy Giuliani didnt facilitate a reduction in crime in NYC, legalized abortion did (2) Stop naming your child Raheem-Tyrel and name him Barack Obama. (3) American capitalism and free markets are mistakenly held to enshrinement but are subject to corruption like Sumo wrestling in Japan (I actually agree with that one, but really, is that really all that profound?). Not that opining that the filmakers have a liberal bent and corresponding agenda should surprise anyone, but the writers make the erroneous claim to be unbiased observers of phenomena that simply present the data--yeah....-- interesting how that data always leads them to the political left. I didnt realize I was renting a Michael Moore film. Save your money on this one folks, it plays fast and loose with the data and is nothing more than propaganda masquerading as novelty and science..Score: 1/5
CraponomicsMore like "the hidden side of nothing interesting". I found it extremely boring and not worth the high rental price. I'm surprised I watched the whole thing. I guess I was waiting for a punch line that never came..Score: 2/5
Good movie for hardcore Freakonomics fansI rented the movie and thought it was pretty good. If you are not a hardcore Freakonomics Book fan you may find the middle of the movie "Sumo Analysis" to be a brain beater, but overall it was pretty entertaining. And despite the price for the HD version, it was still cheaper for us (family of 4) to rent and watch at home than it would've been to wait and see it at the movies..at least $40 cheaper without food or drinks. Thanks Apple for the vehicle to watch pre release media. Our family hopes you get more....Score: 4/5

AwesomeIf those people who are complaining about a $10 rental took 3 seconds to read, they would realize that the movie is priced like that because it has NOT YET BEEN RELEASED IN THEATERS !!
