AMAZINGBeleive it or not, this is one of the best horror films I have ever seen. Instead of having some ghosts or something, you are left to wonder WHO it is that is being possesed. You are always thinking it is someone, and then that someone gets killed. Keeps you on your toes. Horror is like the only genre I watch and I usually have to watch them alone because my friends are all too scared. It usually doesn't bother me, since I am not scared eisily. This movie made me jump once or twice. Thats how good it is. I reccomend this to EVERYONE into horror or even thriller movies..Score: 5/5
DisappointmentThis really did have some potential, but by adding a supernatural element, making a good chunk of the characters annoying jerks, and a dumb twist ending that could only come from M. Night himself (who DID NOT direct this, only produced and created the story), it just makes the whole thing a silly stupid mess. My personal favorite scene is when a superstitious security guard tosses a piece of toast into the air, and claims that the devil is near because the toast landed jelly side down. That should give you a good idea about the quality of this film..Score: 1/5

Twists and turnsThis movie kept you wondering till the very end. it was a decent film and if you have the money i would rent it. it wouldnt be the same the second time because you would all ready know Not a bad movie but not greatGood side: director is able to build tension and suspense out of a thin scenario in the very confined space of an elevator. From that point of view, the exercise is a succes and he has talent. Bad side: this movie has nothing to do with Satan. This movie is about Hades. That part was disappointing as there's nothing tied to the scare Satan stories can create. Also, movie holds just one viewing: after you've seen it, there's nothing much left for watching it again. Overall, an OK movie that falls short on story and biblical background, leaving you on your hunger. Renting it is ok. Buying it is pointless..Score: 3/5

Disappointed!Wow! There's a couple of hours of my life I'll never get back. This movie had such great potential and totally blew it! I would expect a movie about the prince of darkness himself to be a wee tad more frightening, but this was laughable. Quick flashy camera shots to cover up an obviously low budget flick. The ending was brutal and was basically the cheap icing to top this whole mess off. Time to go back to film school...were the make-up artists and special effects people on holidays when they filmed this? Nasty. The lead actor was; however, quite easy on the eyes! Devil is a hell, pardon the pun, of a thriller!Even though Shyamalan didn't direct this film based on his story, he has shown us again what truly original filmmaking is all about. It's scary, intense, dramatic, humanistic and blessed with another great twist ending by Shyamalan whether you can figure it out or not. The film's moral tale that the Devil isn't real without God is also Shyamalan at his best. I wish I saw it in the cinema..Score: 5/5
