Gladiator Film Synopsis
In the year 180, the death of emperor Marcus Aurelius throws the Roman Empire into chaos. Maximus is one of the Roman army's most capable and trusted generals and a key advisor to the emperor. As Marcus' devious son Commodus ascends to the throne, Maximus is set to be executed. He escapes, but is captured by slave traders. Renamed Spaniard and forced to become a gladiator, Maximus must battle to the death with other men for the amusement of paying audiences.

I should’ve gotten it when it was on saleThis is “loosely based on Marcus Aurelius final days as a living emperor” The rest of the story just rocks. One of my favorites to kick back to and watch gladiators fight. The effects are incredible. Keep in mind that the coliseum was entirely cg rendered during the early years of CG development in sub surface scattering and virtual environment lighting.

Good guy is loved and respected, bad guy has status he didn't earn or deserve; then their roles are reversed, and the bad guy gains power and the good guy is diminished; then through their own deeds, their roles are switched again. Best picture of 2000Gladiator is a wonderful experience. It is good for kids 13up. It has about three really gory scenes. The battle at the start is really dark so you can't see a whole lot and they didn't show what happened to Maximus's family. Italiano Dopo una vittoria contro i Britanni l'imperatore Marco Aurelio, che disprezza il figlio Commodo, decide che il suo successore sarà il generale Massimo, uomo straordinario, amato da tutti.
