In the summer of 1863, General Robert E. Lee leads the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia into Gettysburg, Pennsylvania with the goal of marching through to Washington, D.C. The Union Army of the Potomac, under the command of General George G. Meade, forms a defensive position to confront the rebel forces in what will prove to be the decisive battle of the American Civil War.

ITunes Extras and 4K neededAwesome movie about the Battle of Gettysburg, but can you please add the Special Features and iTunes Extras and also upgrade to 4K so people can watch them online? Also, can you merge the theatrical and extended versions together in one set? This is really annoying to me when the Special Features appear on the Home Video releases of movies, but not on iTunes because technology is advancing everyday..Score: 5/5
Touch of ShakespeareThe movie Gettysburg gets a high rating from me. I say this because not only did it display the grit of the soldiers' faces well but it also had a touch of class when it quoted Shakespeare twice. Not to say that Shakespeare is a pre-requisite for class but it would be remiss to assume that professors such as Chamberlain and actors such as Harrison would not have been expressing their knowledge of Shakespeare while bantering with the men..Score: 5/5

Best MovieAll it took was once, and then I was hooked. Rigorously authenticated, this has got to be one of the BEST MOVIES OUT THERE. Whether you're a Civil War buff or not, you will enjoy it. I never cried during a movie (no, not even Titanic), but the dedicated actors and thousands of Civil War re-enactors, no CGI or green screen stuff, combined with the most moving soundtrack I've ever heard, make it better than any other movie, even if it is long. Based on Michael Shaara's book "The Killer Angels," a historical fiction novel that is so authentic it should be nonfiction, THIS MOVIE BELONGS IN YOUR LIBRARY..Score: 5/5
Confederate Flag?Apple is removing GAMES with the Confederate Flag, but they apparently missed this movie which has LOTS of Confederate flags in it. Or is it this is a great revenue stream than a “silly” game? Come on Apple — do it all or not at all. For the record, the whole PC thing is SILLY. Flags don’t kill people..Score: 1/5

Inspiring and mind blowing!This movie shows both sides opinions of the war and, it feels like it puts you right in the middle the 20th Maine at little round top and in Pickett's charge. It's good when it's goodOverall, this is a good movie but every fifteen minutes the whole thing stops while someone gives thei soliloquy – deep, pondering, meandering and important. No doubt the actors loved it, the movie keeps stopping again and again. One interesting thing is you get to see what Martin Sheen would look like if he was an Ewok. All that aside, in the places where it is good, it's good. Frankly, if they were to cut out everything except Jeff Daniels' portions of the story, that in itself would make a great movie (sans Daniels soliloquy, of course)..Score: 3/5
