Rango (Johnny Depp) is a kooky pet chameleon who gets tossed into a wild and raucous town in desperate need of a hero. When Rango, a lost family pet, accidentally winds up in the gritty, gun-slinging town of Dirt, the less-than-courageous lizard suddenly finds he stands out. Welcomed as the last hope the town has been waiting for, new Sheriff Rango is forced to play his new role to the hilt.

Looks great, lacks contentRango is one of those animated films that's really for adults. Kids won't get many of the jokes and references, some of which are pretty funny, and smaller kids probably won't like the grungy characters and might find all the shooting and killing and squashing of animals kinda scary. Also the story is just too surrealist and wacky for most kids to understand. I tend to prefer old-school animation to CGI, but if all CGI was as richly detailed and meticulous as this I could change my mind. It really does look great. I'm also not a fan of celebrities doing the voices for animated films, but this is one of the exceptions (The Incredibles was another). Depp is great at it, and several of the others really carry their weight. For all that, it began to bore me about midway through, and I know exactly why: Like about a million other Hollywood movies lately, it runs out of story and starts to rely on completely predictable and cliched action scenes, romance scenes, chase scenes. The oddball creativity that makes the first half so fun (for adults at least) sinks into the burning sands in the second half, and I found myself twiddling my thumbs a lot until the end. I'm told all the cliches in Hollywood movies these day reflects the numerous producers and distributors who all get to stick their fingers in the pie now. If that's true I sure hope Hollywood gores back to the old studio system someday..NocricketsScore: 3/5

Really?!?This movie really did not look that great from the trailer and didn't look any better throughout the movie. Few funny parts and some strange kind of creepy parts that made the movie even weirder. Totally predictable and huge disappointment and a waste of time. I was bored 10 minutes into the movie. No wayI watched the trailer of this movie, I thought it was stupid so I thought well you can’t always judge a book by its cover so I tried watching the movie, only to discover that the movie was actually stupider than the trailer. At least the trailer was only 2 minutes or so. I was only able to get 15 20 minutes in of this movie and I had to turn it off. I borrowed it from the library and started watching it for 15 minutes and we went back out again so I just had to drop this movie off & return it, the library can keep it for as long as they want cause it ain’t joining my movie collection.DfgdrgdrgrScore: 1/5
