LET THE SPECTACLE ASTOUND YOU! In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera, Cameron Mackintosh produced a unique, spectacular staging of the musical on a scale which had never been seen before. Inspired by the original staging by Hal Prince and Gillian Lynne, this lavish, fully-staged production set in the sumptuous Victorian splendor of London’s legendary Royal Albert Hall features a cast and orchestra of over 200, plus some very special guest appearances.
A disfigured musical genius, hidden away in the Paris Opera House, terrorises the opera company for the unwitting benefit of a young protégée whom he trains and loves. The 25th anniversary of the first public performance of Phantom of the Opera was celebrated with a grand performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Okay, NOW we can buy it, now it gets 5 starsI wish the stodgy British had gotten over all their government regulations and let the chandelier fall the way I've seen it done many times, but oh well. Still spectacular theatre. (Not a "concert", this was "Theatre".) And I don't what people's problems are with the 2004 movie; I rate this performance and the movie equally high..Score: 4/5

Outstanding production; includes the onstage tribute after the showWatched this for free on YouTube as a fundraiser for actors during 2020’s coronavirus quarantine (“The Shows Must Go On”). This is an amazing production that you would not want to miss. It has been decades since I had thought about this musical, yet here we are today, the whole house singing songs from the show for days now. This was an amazing way to share the musical with my 7 year old daughter. If you have any appreciation for this musical, you don’t want to miss this. Includes the Andrew Lloyd Weber tribute on stage immediately following the show, which features several past Phantoms and surprise guest appearances by Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman. This is a must buy if your a lover of musical arts and tragic love stories. I loved this so much and when I heard that there was a second one I almost died!! I love it so much!! Delightful and Magical! This was a beautifully performed show celebrating the Phantom of the Opera's success of 25 years. While some aspects of the setting were altered into a digital background, the show still looked beautiful most of the time. Considering that this was staged at the Royal Albert Hall, which is not a theatre but a concert venue, I was impressed by how wonderfully the actors and technical crew turned a concert hall into a theatrical stage. The performances were brilliant and each actor deserves a standing ovation. Ramin, Sierra and Hadley were amazing as Phantom, Christine and Raoul. Sierra's "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" was amazing. The final lair scene between Ramin, Sierra and Hadley was heartwrenching and the crowning jewel to this show. The Masquerade scene was a real treat with over 200 actors in gorgeous costumes. The orchestra was awesome! Every actor here, whether they had a small role or a big one, was wonderful and helped make this production magical. Every person involved in the staging of this production, from behind the scenes, helped make this show real. Finally everyone can enjoy this delightful performance of "The Phantom of the Opera" in their own living rooms for years to come. Bravo!.Score: 5/5
The TruthThe preformence was very well done and the only bad side was the videdo backroungs but i can`t complain because the preaformance was meant to be for theatre not a movie so anyone who watches this must takle that into consideration... overall the preformnce was astounding.:).Score: 5/5
DisappointedI love the Phantom of the Opera and the music and performances are great. I am very disappointed with the staging of this production. I find it very distracting to have the orchestra up on the stage behind the performers. Worse still, all of the backgrounds and large set pieces like curtains and such are done on video screens. They look very flat on this recording and often quite dim from the perspective that the camera is looking at them from and they look horrible in the many close-up shots in the film as they appear just as a large panel of dots in the background because the screens are meant to be seen from a much greater distance. If it wasn't Phantom of the Opera I would not have even given it 3 stars. It should have been a 5 star film but the video screen backgrounds are such a huge disappointment and really take away from the performance. I hope they release a new version of this musical with proper sets full of nuance and texture. Perhaps we will have to wait till the 30th or 50th anniversary for that. As for this, great performances but horrible set design. The director of this production made a very poor choice in using the video backgrounds; they take much of the awe and magic out of the production..Score: 3/5

The best production to dateI’ve seen the Phantom touring production 3 times in my life. 1st was mind blowing. 2nd was amazing. 3rd a few years back was a new production and soooo disappointing! I love that this 25th anniversary edition went back to the original way. The costumes are brilliant and the main vocalists are incredible. Christine is played beautifully with a sweet angelic voice, and the Phantom, Karim is played with angst, love and passion. He blows everyone away! This is the best cast I’ve ever seen. I love this taping and all the extra special things at the end! Definitely glad it’s been rehashed during Covid crisis! WOW!!!I swear that this is probably the best stage performance I've ever seen of POTO. Whoever cast the actors was a total genius! I loved Sierra as Christine, she was awesome and she was totally beautiful! Ramin Karimloo was a mind blowing Phantom (and the fact that he's gorgeous helps as well. Wink, wink for Broadway fans, well the girls anyway). Hadley Fraser is by far the only Raoul I really like, but it could just be me. The singing really blew me away and even though some parts(I'm not saying which) were altered, it was for the better (don't forget that the Albert Hall isn't really a theater). The chemistry between our three main characters was just amazing! I'm completely in LOVE with these three (not to be creepy or anything)..Score: 5/5

A beautiful, beautiful masterpiece of musical theatre, The Phantom of the Opera At the Royal Albert Hall is played by a cast of 100% talent, led by the amazing Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess, who bring their own flair to the roles of the Phantom and Christine while still keeping true to what these two should be.
